365 Prompts Challenge: Item – Wand

Whenever he had to use the wand it just did not want to work like he want it to. Sure, it was not his wand, it was Dracos but...it felt like the wand had also the same personality like Malfoy. Stubborn, annoying and it never did what it should do. Sounded just like Malfoy.

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

Harry tried it again and the cup moved! But only for a few meters. The cup dropped and began to shatter on the ground. Perfect. He sighed and threw the wand away. There was no use for a wand which did not want to obey. It would be better for everyone when Harry returned the and to its previous owner. Even though the Slytherin would not enjoy to see him. The golden boy began to write a letter since he did not want to arrive unannounced at the Manor. He folded the letter, wrote Malfoys name and address on it and gave the paper to his new owl Rue. She understood and left as soon as the window was open.

The reply arrived the next day and Harry was glad that Malfoy wanted to get back his original wand. The Gryffindor got dressed as fast as he could and left with his own wand and Malfoys wand. Draco was already at the Leaky Cauldron with a butterbeer in front of him. He looked up when Harry saw down and put the wand on the table.

"Potter."

"Malfoy."

Both looked at each other for a few seconds before the Slytherin took his and and looked at it. It was not broken and with a quick 'Aguamenti' the glass was filled again, this time with water. The water was normal, nothing went wrong and the glass was filled. Potter grumbled and crossed his arms.

"The wand is just like you. It did not work for me."

Draco snorted at the comment and put the wand away.

"Obviously. This is my wand and it only works for me."

"Git."

"Idiot."

Both did not say anything for the next minute. They sat there in silence until Draco got up. He had what he came for and he was a busy man.

"But still, thank you. You could have destroyed it but you didn't. And no other wand works as fine as mine."

Harry calmed down again and followed him outside. Somehow it was good to see Malfoy again after the war. Both had changed but their little fights would never end.

"Sure. And you should know me at least that well that I would never destroy something like this."

Draco just nodded and wanted to leave but then he turned around to look at Potter.

"We could meet sometimes. After all, I owe you and a Malfoy always pays his debts. Same time next week."

Without waiting for a reply he disapparated and left a stunned Harry behind.
