Chapter 1: The Letter
*July 29th, 2035*
"CJ! Wake up!" Someone shook me awake. I opened my eyes and saw a female Servine standing next to my bed. "CJ, it's important. Get up!" I slowly rose, sitting up and staring at her.
"What is it?" I asked her, my voice straining. She held up a piece of paper.
"We got accepted."
"Huh?"
"We got accepted! The university wants us to attend! Come on! We got to pack!" She grabbed my arm and pulled me out of bed.
Whoops, forgot some introductions. My name is CJ. I am half human-half Lucario. My physique is of a Lucario, but my intelligence is of a human. My dad, Alex, wrote a book on his experience at the most prestigious university in the Unova region; Pokemon University. Sadly, however, that school closed due to two of the students being murdered, one of them being a good friend of my dad's. That's when I was born.
June 17th, 2014. That was the day that my mom, Chloe, gave birth to me. I was adored as a Riolu. Then I turned sixteen and evolved. I had the most chaotic year that year. I lost a spike on my right arm, I lost my then-girlfriend Izzy in an explosion, nearly killed myself twice because of it, Izzy came back, I actually died, met Taylor (the one who was shot), and finally, found out I was going to be a father. I married Izzy and raised a beautiful Snivy daughter named Taylor. She was the second most beautiful girl to enter my life. Guess the first.
Then, just last year, I had another daughter, Kylie. She was an abnormal Riolu; her fur was colored green rather than blue. I was hoping she wouldn't be made fun of for her appearance.
I finished high school in a grueling manner: Pranks everywhere. My other two friends, Mark and Adrian, along with Izzy, helped me end the year with a bang. The staff were surprised and glad that I was finally out of their hair and fur.
Let me tell you about Adrian. When she was a young Zorua, her parents went on vacation and never came back. She was devastated. The Council conducted an investigation, but found nothing. No one knows what happened to them. The city was nice and decided to let Adrian live in her house. They gave her an allowance and shopped for her. All the bills were paid by the city.
In our freshman year, a Cyndaquil, Mark Khan, moved to Unova from Kanto. Adrian invited him to stay at her house and they became best friends. All of that changed two years later as Mark shared his feeling for her. They became lovers and stayed that way.
And now was the time for college acceptance letters. Izzy and I applied for the same colleges, hoping that we would stay together. That letter came today, accepting both of us. We had three days to move all of our stuff from the house to the dorm rooms we stayed in. From what the brochure said, the dorms were co-ed, which meant there was a chance that Izzy and I would live together.
"What do we all need?" I asked my wife.
"Uh, not much. Just some clothes and other hygiene shit," she responded. We were throwing our stuff in separate suitcases, in case we were separated. "We can have Nichole watch Taylor and Kylie. She loves them."
"Okay. Got everything?". I looked up at Izzy. She nodded her and grabbed her suitcase. I grabbed mine and we left the room together.
We walked out of the elevator and into the foyer. My parents were waiting for us, Taylor standing next to them.
"Have fun and be safe, kids," my dad told us.
"Thanks, Dad."
"Bye Mommy! Bye Daddy!" Taylor said, hugging us. "I'll miss you!"
"We'll miss you, too," Izzy said. Our daughter let go and Izzy and I walked out, saying goodbye to Mom and Dad.
We walked over to my car, a 2029 Ford Focus, and threw our luggage into the trunk. Before I could close the trunk, Adrian and Mark showed up with their own suitcases.
"What're you doing here?" I asked them.
"Catching a ride," Mark responded.
"Don't you have a car, Adrian?" Izzy asked her friend.
"I did," the Zoroark responded. "And then it broke down. So we came here." She threw her bag into the trunk next to Izzy's stuff.
"May as well ride with you guys since we're all leaving," Mark stated, throwing his shit on top and closing the trunk.
"Fine, get in," I told them reluctantly. We all piled into my car and took off down the road towards Humilau City.
"What road are we trying to find again?" Izzy asked, looking at a map on her phone. Adrian had fallen asleep on Mark's shoulder, and Mark fell asleep on her head. I had some Metallica playing softly.
"Baker Street," I replied. "You know, like Sherlock."
"Oh, yeah."
"Arceus, I can't believe I'm going back."
"Back?"
"Didn't I tell you? Back when I died at school, Chyanne took me to the university. It was practically the same building, just some extra construction."
"What're you studying for?"
"Me? Well, I was thinking about going into teaching."
"Teaching? My, you have matured."
"Not really. I'm still gonna be a dick. But I'll be paid to do it. What about you?"
"I'm trying to become a journalist. I always loved writing."
"Really? How come I've never seen anything from you."
"I'm uh, little embarrassed about them. Kinda private."
"They're about us, aren't they?" I turned off the freeway. "Don't worry. Back when I thought I lost you, I wrote a ton of shit. I wonder if they're still in my room…"
"Either way, I love to write." We fell quiet in our final moments of the trip. I turned right onto Baker Street and pulled into the parking lot for the university. The building was massive. Izzy turned back to the sleeping couple while I pulled out a bag of earplugs. "Wake up," she said softly. I handed a couple of plugs to Izzy.
"Put these in," I told her. Mine already in place, I picked up my phone, paused the music, cranked up the volume, scrolled down to "Nightmare" by Avenged Sevenfold, and waited for Izzy to be ready. She nodded her head and I pushed play. The dark intro played softly, kinda like a lullaby. As the song played, Izzy and I anticipated for the heavy part. Almost… almost… NOW!
Mark and Adrian woke up instantly as soon as the guitar strummed, their eyes popping out of their sockets. Izzy and I laughed and got out.
"Fuck you!" Mark shouted, getting out of the car, Adrian getting out on her side. I popped open the trunk and pulled out all of our suitcases. Everyone grabbed their own and headed up the steps and through the front doors.
"Wow," Adrian whispered, looking around the atrium.
"Come on," I said. "Office is this way." I led them over towards a small room. An old, female Charizard appeared from under the desk with a box of paperclips in her claws. There was a scar on her left wing.
"Can I help you?" She asked.
"New students," Izzy replied immediately. "Izzy and CJ Leroux, Mark Khan, and Adrian Dupont." She dug through a few folders before pulling out multiple sheets. She handed us each a schedule and a key.
"Classes start September 7th and lucky you, you all have the same dorm room; 404E. Do you need help finding it?"
"Please," Mark said. I looked over at him and gave him a dark look. The secretary turned around.
"Jasmine! Can you come here please?" A female Vaporeon appeared from around the corner. "Could you escort these Pokemon to room 404E, please?"
"Sure!" She exclaimed. "Follow me!" She ran out the door in excitement, us following her at a slow pace.
"Keep up!" She yelled from down the hall. "The elevator is just down here!" Not going any faster, we reached the elevator and went up.
Three floors later, we got out and took a short walk before reaching our dorm room door.
"Well, here you are!" Jasmine exclaimed. "Now, will you excuse me? I have to get back to my boyfriend. We were in the middle of something important." She left. I unlocked the door and was in awe. I felt like I was walking into a small house. Kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, a large plasma flatscreen, and an Xbox Blackhole and a PS7. They were up-to-date with their consoles and games.
"Holy shit," Adrian breathed.
"I know," Izzy whispered behind me.
"C'mon," Mark said. "Let's go unpack our shit." Mark and I took separate bedrooms, our loves following us. I placed my suitcase in the closet while Izzy lifted hers onto the bed and began unpacking. I came up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. I started to nibble on her neck.
"Ah!" She screamed. "CJ! Can't that wait?"
"I can't resist," I responded. "You're too delicious." She reached around and grabbed my head. My nibbles turned into sucking. She gasped.
"Please, CJ. I need to unpack."
"You can do that later." I spun her around. "Let me relieve some of your tension." I leaned in and kissed her deeply, my tongue entering her mouth. She placed her hands onto my shoulders as our appendages danced together. A knock at the door startled us, pulling apart quickly. Adrian stood in the doorframe.
"Mark and I are going to check out the campus," she told us. "We'll be back later."
"Okay," Izzy said. Once Adrian left, she turned back to me. "Now, can I unpack?"
"Tch, you're no fun," I said, pecking her on her cheek. I left her room and sat down onto the couch, holding the TV remote. "Many years of technological advances, yet we still use remotes." I clicked the TV on and flipped it to the news. Nothing interesting. A couple of Darkrai "sightings," but other than that, it was standard news. The Council being corrupt, wars in other regions, and the weather. But hey, I can't complain. I'm going to the most prestigious university that I know of. And I'm also with Izzy. What more could I ask for?
That's right, readers. Part five of the University, part nine in the entire series. How come the Pokemon University is operational again? Can CJ and Izzy complete their schooling? Am I really going back to my old style of asking questions at the end of every chapter, and then doing a recap before every chapter? Find out next time. blazingalex, out!
