Trick Blue – Picking Myself

AN- This is my first ever fanfic, so it might be a little… strange. This is from Harvest Moon: AWL. It's something I noticed while I was playing the game a few days ago. It's about Nami, basically. She only accepts Fall Flowers, and the only Fall Flowers I can ever find are Trick Blues, which have two different flower heads and two different scents. In my strange, sugar-high mind, it reminded me of Nami. And there might be some slight character bashing in look reeaaallllyyy closely… This was read over once, spell-checked, and… that's about it. So please excuse any mistakes you find.

Disclaimer- I own nothing. I don't own Nami, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, Trick Blues, or anything else mentioned in this story. I only own this idea, I think.

Nami bent over, humming to herself as she picked her favorite flower, the Trick Blue. The Trick Blue was the only flower she liked for a reason. All the other flowers, like the Mist Moon, the Goddess Drop, the Happy Lamp, and the Toyflower were all boring and similar. They all had one scent, one bloom, and nothing interesting or unique about them.

The Mist Moon reminded her of Flora, always digging in the Digsite with Carter, and who loved to look at the sky. The Goddess Drop reminded her of Muffy, who was beautiful and flirty and who was a Goddess, in her own way. The Happy Lamp that bloomed in the summer reminded her of Celia, who was always smiling and happy, who seemed to always have a reason to enjoy life. Finally, the Toyflower reminded her of Lumina who was a giggly young woman with all the toys and things she could ever need. All of those flowers were beautiful in their own right, yes, but all were the same.

Nami preferred the Trick Blue, though, because in some ways, it reminded her of her. The Trick Blue had two blooms, one red and one blue. By watching, she had noticed that people tended to smell the red bloom more often, for that sweet, soft, shy smell. For Nami, though, it was the blue flower head she enjoyed, with its strong bitter scent. The blue bloom was cool, the red passionate. Nami loved both of these heads on the flower, along with their scent. Nami knew she was seen as the blue bloom, antisocial and bitter. She thought she was the blue bloom, too.

As she reached the pick another flower, a different gloved hand grabbed it first. She looked up, startled, to see Jack, the new farmer in Forget-Me-Not Valley. He grinned as he handed the flower to her, the evening sun making his light brown hair almost black. "It reminds me of you. Two different sides, but both beautiful." He said abruptly, handing her the flower then walking away, back to his farm.

Nami stood there, shocked, holding the flower she had received from Jack in her right hand, the others gathered in her left. Then, slowly, she brought the red bloom to her nose, and sniffed. 'Maybe…' she thought, looking back to the setting sun. 'I can show them that the blue bloom is beautiful too. Just like Jack says…'
