It could be us

Lydia watched as Stiles paced the room, his anxiousness basically radiating from his body. With a quiet clear of her throat Lydia shifted on the bed, gesturing with her hands as if she was about to speak; brims parted but no comforting words would flow, she didn't know how to settle him. Stiles chewed absentmindedly on the pad of his thumb as he stopped briefly for a moment; his gaze was fixated on the wall which was plastered with different pictures and sticky notes. Stiles' foot tapped rapidly against the cherry hardwood floor as he began unpinning the thin strand of red yarn wound around thumb nails, the same one Lydia was fidgeting with. "Stiles.." Lydia spoke softly, her voice seeming to echo in the eerie silence, "Stiles please, look at me" her tone almost implied a pleading sense, her words caused him to take a short breath, Stiles turned toward Lydia slowly with a defeated sigh "I.. I can't" he said quietly before shuffling towards the bed, easing down beside her. Lydia's brows furrowed as her palm found its way atop Stiles' shoulder, digits balling up along with the cotton fabric of his shirt; she felt his breathing quicken as panic set into his mind. "Lydia" Stiles said through a choking breath, worry filled his dark orbs as he clenched hold of the sheets lining his bed. "shhh, shhh" Lydia whispered in attempt to sooth Stiles' worries, she pulled her lower lip between pearly whites while racking her brain on things she'd read on panic attacks, she reached her free arm forward and caressed his farthest cheek, turning his face to meet her gaze. The proximity of their faces caused Stiles' chocolate eyes to widen slightly, his chest heaving with unsteady breaths as their noses brushed softly. Lydia's thumb swept ever so gently along the underneath of Stiles' eye, her eyes searching his dark eyes; it was almost as if staring into a deep abyss. Though comfort tingled in Stiles' body he couldn't control his uneasy breathing and Lydia could visibly see it, without a second thought Lydia crashed her brims against Stiles' her hand instantly releasing his shirt and sneaking up his neck to cup his other cheek. Stiles closed his eyes tightly in disbelief, the warmth of Lydia's lips sending all his worries deep down; all his dreams came true in this exact moment. Stiles reached both hands up and gently grasped Lydia's cheeks, his lips delivering a passionate kiss, heavy breathing filled the room before Lydia reluctantly broke the kiss, her hands slid down Stiles' chest; silence surrounding them as they both just stared slightly stunned. Stiles broke the quiet finally with an abrupt question "why'd you do that.." Lydia glanced down prior to answering in a whisper "I, I read somewhere that if you hold your breath it calms you down, and you held your breath when I kissed you.." she peered up at him with a soft expression and he just smiled; because in that moment Stiles realized Lydia really did care.
