Athena yawned half asleep and stretched her left arm to the other side of the queen bed only to find her longtime companion missing. Frowning she sat up and looked around. Sunlight seeped through the curtains and lit the dark room a bit. Deciding to get up from the silks of their bed and look for her lover she walked from their bedroom to the great mansions library. Inside were millions of Athena's books and in the center a piano where her lover sat softly singing and playing it. Folded wings that looked like raindrops hid her lover. Athena quietly sat on the black love seat out of view falling asleep peacefully to the harmonic melody. She was a bit greedy and would jump into Tartarus before letting Ares have a private concert with her angel.

The first time they had met a long time ago, Athena had finished a terrible battle with her uncle Poseidon. She had managed to beat him only by lifting him out of the sea and earth to the sky where he had no power and cut of his head. Typical way to end a discourse in their family. Exhausted to the brink of fainting she plummeted down to earth and landed roughly on the small edge of a mountain. Before passing out she felt a presence kneeling next to her and the lightest touch of a soft hand brushing her dark bangs. Thin but strong arms pushed her upright using the mountains walls for support. The person pressed a canteen to her lips but Athena was to tired to even lift her eye lids. The person must've realized this because they laid Athena gently on the ground again.

What happened next was a complete surprise but she felt the most delicate pair of lips possible firmly on top of her own. Then the taste of nectar sliding down her throat and if she was blushing it was because Helios was shining to brightly. Usually she'd have told the person to get away from her, that she was asexual and promptly put a spear through him but now with warmth flowing again she could only groan and dazedly look up. What she saw took her breath away and made her wonder if she truly was dead. A beautiful woman with long brown hair, long eyelashes, rosy cheeks and caramel eyes loomed directly above her. Her snow colored wings seemed to cut off the rest of the world and make a curtain for them. She was small and frail looking like a flower.

She also had her arms between Athena's head and was giving her a hesitant timid smile that made Athena's heart almost five out. Asexual or not it was as if Eros had taken her vulnerable moment and gathered his courage to shoot her with an arrow with no regrets. Licking her dry and bloody lips, coughing awkwardly she managed a weak hi to her angel. The benevolent being finally noticed their positions and blushing to the tips of her ears got off of her to the side.

"Sorry umm, I'm Nike goddess of victory." Nike said with her head down and playing with her fingers shyly a smiling at her again and Athena knew she was head over heels in love. For the next few millenniums Athena would constantly win multiple battles to dumbstruck to approach Nike and ask her out until Aphrodite, Artemis, Ares, Hera and the rest of Olympus finally got fed up with them and arranged a date themselves. Speaking of Nike she was currently calling out Athena from memory lane.

"Athena! Make some room I want to snuggle with you." And that's how they spent another morning cuddling instead of doing their godly chores.
