Mirror, Mirror On The Wall
His heart beating wildly Vic flushed an easy ten grand's worth of coke down the toilet. This was too close, he could hear Aceveda's voice, they'd made it with seconds to spare.
He needed to look calm; he needed to look cool. Just a quick glance in the mirror.
Mesmerized by what he saw staring back at him. Not Detective Vic Mackey, but a low life piece of scum flushing the evidence. Not so long ago he'd blown away a piece of shit drug dealer who'd been doing the same thing. Blown him away, and then turned his gun on a cop.
What had he become?
It was too late. Too late for regret, too late for guilt. He had to think about his team, his family. Plaster a grin on his face, and confront his boss with a kilo of coke down the back of his pants. Smirk and make wise-ass remarks.
Put on his mask, and make sure he steered clear of mirrors, because he didn't like what he saw looking back at him. Not Vic Mackey, but instead everything he'd hated and fought against. He'd become twisted and corrupt. Unable to save himself, past all redemption.
