Being a Slytherin...

Author's notes: this is taken from a random Slytherin's point of view on how people treat you based on what house you are in. This is sort of a companion story for "Being a Gryffindor".
Summary: We are Slytherins, so we should be one until the day we drew our last breath... trying to prove ourselves to this damned world.
So on with the story...
Being Slytherin is being condemned...
It is unfair but it is true... we can never be anyone but our parent's heir.
And because of that, we can never be anything more then a death eater of the Dark lord.
We are brought up as spoiled little brats who know no contentment. We are who our parents are, we therefore are meant to be damned.
Here at hoggy warty Hogwarts it is simple, if you are a Gryffindor then you are praised up to heavens. If you are a Hufflepuff then you get nothing but mocking, those snobby Ravenclaws are always loners so they are tend to be forgotten. But we are Slytherins so we can be nothing else but evil.
Evil... how exactly did we became evil? Many of us have come and go but nothing really changed, we can never changed. At least not in other people's point of view, for we are Slytherins so we can never be more than Salazar Slytherin's evil pawn.
The moment I arrived here I knew my fate, I am after all from a family who has been in Slytherin's house for many centuries. I knew that from the moment I stepped in these halls, I would be treated differently because I am a Slytherin. Still, I had something in my heart, if I actually have one! It's not hope, I gave up hope at a every young age, it's just something. Something that wished I wasn't put in Slytherin, but I was, and from that moment on I knew I'm doomed.
No matter how hard we try to do good, people will never see us good. It hurts that they always treat us like snakes. We are from a serpent's house but we are not serpents, atleast not yet. We try, we really do! But since nobody believe us, some of us give up.
It is unfair, but it has always been like that here at hogwarts.
Just look at the simplest example possible, here at school the hero is a Gryffindor. Brave, noble, generous and everything good. That is what best describe Harry Potter, the boy who lived and the savior of all. Then came the villain, the bad boy, the slytherin prince himself, Draco Malfoy. Like Potter he is also famous, but not because of his bravery nor because of his nobility but because of his destiny. His destiny to follow on his evil father's footsteps, a path that has already been written even before his birth.
The same destiny that awaits us all...
We are Slytherins but we are NOT Slytherin.
But because people think we are... then we can do nothing but be one until the day we drew our last breath... trying to prove ourselves to this damned world.
To those who think that we Slytherins are nothing but evil little bastards... then think again for it is not easy being your parent's heir, it is never easy being a Slytherin.
The end.
