Rain
A/N: this was just something I came up tonight. (I just wanted to write something little and cute… :D)
English isn't my native language so there might be some mistakes.
The characters belong to Hiromu Arakawa.
Roy didn't even realize that he was smiling a bit while watching those two goofing around. It felt good, just to see Ed and Al, finally laughing, smiling and acting like their age, acting like kids. Enjoying the tiny little moment there was, every little moment there could be. It felt good just to see Ed. Just to hear his laughter. It had got to be the most relaxing sound in the whole world. Ed turned his joyful eyes to Roy and grinned. "Come on!" Roy let out a little laugh and shook his head. No way in hell he would get himself soaked. Ed and Al could peacefully do it, if they wanted to but Roy… no way.
"Huh, it's getting cold", Roy heard Al's voice. The boy was trembling and looked Ed who had stopped moving and was facing the sky, letting the rain fall into his face. "Brother, I'm going inside… You coming?" Ed shooked his head. "You go, I'll be here for a moment…" "But you might get a cold…" Ed laughed. "I don't mind! This feels good!" Al smiled and walked past Roy as he went inside. Roy stood there and just watched Ed. He was feeling the cold air and the rain just kept running down but Roy tried not to mind about it. He wanted to look Ed, see how the boy just stood there with a smile on his lips, looking like he was alive, really alive for the first time.
"Ed", Roy just had to say his name out loud. The boy glanced at him and grinned once again. "Come here." "No way", Roy said. What was Ed thinking? Clearly nothing at all. Roy was an adult, there were no reason for an adult to jump up and down in the pouring rain. And besides… Roy hated the rain. "Oh, I didn't know you were made from sugar…" "Don't try to provoke me." "Well, it's working, right?" Ed was right, as he always seemed to be. Roy sighed and wondered for a second what on earth was he doing before he stepped out from the porch. Roy winced when he felt the cold drops against his neck but he kept on walking until he was facing Ed who was grinning widely. "Oh, you did it. It's not really that bad, is it? The rain…" Roy sneered. "You deserve a punishment for making me stand in the goddamn rain…" Ed smiled and for a moment there, he looked like an angel even though his long hair was glued to his face. "Really? And what will my punishment be?" Roy smiled too when he said: "This." And he leaned in, pressing his lips against Ed's. When they parted, Ed said: "You know… I've always wanted to kiss someone in the rain." Roy smiled. "I know." When they just stood there, clinging onto each other, Roy found himself thinking that maybe rain wasn't that bad after all.
