The first chapter of the first story of my new account! For the many of you who don't know me, I'm the lazy ass in charge of the mostly abandoned account 'Goose-chan'. I'm also one half of PurplePandaGeese. This account is my attempt at a fresh start.
This story is heavily focused on Japanese urban legends, so if you're unfamiliar with them, I suggest you skim the Cracked article about them to get the general idea. Hope you enjoy :D
Seiyo prided itself in being a peaceful town. Of course, there was the occasional minor crime, but there had been no murders or rapes or anything of the like in over fifteen years. Seiyo was quite proud, indeed.
They were especially proud of the local elementary school (named, for obvious reasons, Seiyo Elementary). With exactly two hundred and forty seven students, it was considerably smaller than some of those big city schools with attendance ranking in the thousands, yet it was the pride and joy of the happy little town. But this is not the beginning of our story. Oh, no, the beginning began the previous evening, just as a meeting of the Seiyo Elementary Guardians was about to take place. Amu Hinamori herself sneaked quietly into the empty bathroom after school, thinking that if she was quick enough, she could maybe make it to the meeting in time if she walked at a faster pace than usual. She, like most people, did not include death as a possible cause of delay.
Amu didn't even consider the possibility of something going terribly, horribly, shockingly wrong until she had finished and had her fingers on the latch of the cream colored stall door. If she hadn't been the only one in the bathroom (was she really?) she wouldn't have noticed it but she was and confusion grew to unease grew to terror as the overwhelmingly dark presence weighed down on her shoulders, choking her as she fell to her knees. Her heart began to race, eyes blinded by tears as she forced out desperate pleas for it to end-
And it did.
For several sweet seconds, there was a wonderful stillness spread throughout the entire bathroom. It was over, that dreadful presence was gone, there was nothing to worry about, she was safe-
"Do you like the red cloak or the blue cloak?"
