AU: Just a little one shot I came up with inspired by the scene when they're in the magic box. I have an idea for another chapter if y'all want to see it but if not this is it.
"My life's not special. You run off on your missions and I'm left waiting to hear all about them when you get back," Marisa rambled.
K.C. took another step towards Marisa in the already small space. Marisa held her breath as K.C. spoke. "Your life may not seem special, because you're what makes life special."
"Really?" Marisa questioned.
K.C. nodded and pulled Marisa into a hug. "Yes really."
Marisa gulped and made a daring movie. She brushed her lips below K.C.'s ear. "You make life special too."
"Maybe one day I'll be able to bring you along," K.C. whispered.
Marisa fell further into the hug. "Yea maybe."

"Erin, Julie," Marisa called.
A blur of brown curly locks raced down the stairs. Marisa placed her hands on her hips, "Julie I said no running in the house."
"But mommy lets me run in the house," Julie argued.
Marisa sighed, but with a smile. "I know she does."
"Mama I can't find my bag?" Erin complained as she made her way down the stairs.
Marisa shook her head, typical morning. "School, basketball, or karate bag?"
Erin gasped. "I forgot I have karate this afternoon!"
Before Marisa could say anything else Erin was rushing back up the stairs. All the sudden Marisa was startled by a noise at the door. "Julie go upstairs," Marisa instructed.
Seconds later the door opened. Julie, who had just made it up the stairs, ran back down yelling, "Mommy!"
K.C. caught the five year old in her arms. "Hey sweetie. Did you miss me?"
"Lots," Julie answered.
Erin ran down the stairs to hug K.C. "Mom can you tell us about your mission?"
"Please," Julie added.
K.C. glanced over to Marisa. "You guys have school, but I'll tell you on the way home when I pick you up."
"Okay," Erin sighed.

The kids were at school so Marisa and K.C. sat cuddled on the couch. "So how was your mission?"
"Okay so I had to go undercover as a chef..." K.C. started.
Marisa nodded her head at appropriate times as K.C. talked. She listened to K.C.'s heart beat. "I finally have my own story to write," Marisa pointed out, "My life's special now."
"It's always been special you're just now realizing it," K.C. told her.
Marisa shrugged. "Maybe your right."
