When I stepped outside, I could tell there was a storm coming. The heat and humidity was perfect for the storm's evolution. There was a high CAPE, and the SPC had issued a high risk for my area. Storms! Yes!
My name is Sabrina, Sabrina Eskamino. I am a Storm Chaser from Oklahoma. Elk City, to be exact. I am also a Meteorologist at OKNS 10 in Norman, Oklahoma. I live about a hundred yards from my friend, Joel Taylor. We actually dated in middle, and during, High school. But now I am actually engaged to my chase partner Reed Timmer.
Reed is an Ambitious fellow. He loves to chase. And, so do I. We first met in middle school. He was then dating my cousin, Ginger. They both went to the same middle school. We became friends when I stayed with Ginger for a couple school years. Reed and Ginger were also neighbors, and both owned horses. Reed is a very good rider!
I've just finished prepping our chase vehicle, The Dominator, for a great day of chasing. Reed'll be excited. She's been upgraded with all new things. New Radar, New Cannons, new everything. It's a new car even! The name is Dominator 2. D2 is built on a 2011 GMC Yukon XL. She is more aerodynamic. She can even withstand EF4 to EF5 Tornadoes! The lexxan on the window's is more transparent. Her outer coating is higher quality steal with a Line-X coating for better protection against flying debris. There is also a hydralic system that drops the vehicle to the ground and spikes that deploy when the vehicle is dropped.
Anyway, I've just finished getting D2 ready for the production of StormChasers. Which means I've been installing cameras and microphones like crazy. I have had some help from our cameraguys, Chris Whiteneck and Robert Seaman. I have also been putting cameras in my Suburban as well. It is also in the show. Well, my friend Dustin drives it. Kayleigh and Ginger ride with him.
The Storm is gonna start in about 8 hours. Yay! Dang, we have to drive from Elk City to Norman. Then from Norman to Little Rock. Oh boy. Another Long drive. Well, I can take turns with Joel. And Reed. We can just rotate. Me, Reed, then Joel. AH HA! That'll work! I am sure Joel and Reed will go along with that idea. Oh well, As long as one of us is driving, it's all good.
Well, Joel and I are gonna pack and head out. Gotta go pick up Reed and the others in Norman. Wait, I get to drive D2! Awesome! Can't wait to finally intercept a tornado! I have been waiting all year for this chance, and hopefully it'll come true today! SPC is calling for a High Risk in and around Little Rock. That's our target area for today. Little Rock and surrounding areas. Oh well, better get my stuff in the car so we can go.
