"Orochimaru-sama wishes for you to wear this Sasuke-sama." Kabuto told the younger shinobi coldly as he thrust a hitai-ate in his direction
"No."
Kabuto narrowed his eyes "I think you misunderstood me Sasuke-sama, I don't believe you have much of a say in the matter."
Sasuke turned his back on Kabuto "If Orochimaru cared such a great deal about me carrying the insignia of the sound then he wouldn't have sent a lackey of his to try to coerce me into wearing it."
Kabuto's fingers tensed slightly around the hiati-ate in his hands, Sasuke didn't need to see the other man's face to know that he had hit a nerve as he felt the slight flaring of the skilled medic nin's chakra.
"You are pushing your luck here Sasuke-sama" Kabuto replied
Sasuke let out a cold bark of a laugh "None of you will touch me because I am Orochimaru's vessel. Besides even if you tried I could kill you before you could even lay a finger on me and you know it."
Kabuto turned and went to walk out the door. He stopped in the doorway and turned to face Sasuke's back, light reflecting off of the lenses in his glasses, masking his eyes.
"You are no longer a Konoha shinobi, you are not entitled to the symbol of the Leaf, so why do you still hold onto those ties when you so smugly claim that you have left everything of your old life behind. If that were true then you would have accepted the Otogakure hitai-ate by now." Kabuto said as he closed the door
A kunai ripped through the air and landed with a sharp 'crack', wedged deep in the wooden door, right were Kabuto had been standing.
Sasuke stood, with his arm outstretched from where he had thrown the kunai, his sharingan spinning wildly with anger.
On the other side of the door Kabuto turned and walked away into the darkness of one of the many winding halls of Orochimaru's lair with a smirk, knowing that from now on he would have to watch his back.
