Prologue John McGuccect's Pov.
When us McGucects moved to Maycomb County, we wanted peace and quiet, not all them shenanigans and hoot-a-nannies. But you live with what ya got. I was 11 way back when I met Scout Finch. She was 10 with a brother named Jem, who was 14. Anyway I think Scout stared it all, so that's where I'll start.
Chapter 1
I was sittin' there, on the lakeside, my fishin' stick in hand, when Scout an' Dill came strollin' by, on there way to where ever they caused trouble 'fore I came 'round. They didn't notice me at first; I was being real quiet, so as not to scare the fish away. But they did after a moment, an' they made a racket comin' back towards me, shoutin' questions.
"Your scarin' all the fish away!" I shushed them.
"Sorry." They said it simultaneously. It got scary after a while.
"Ah, shoot, it don't matter. Them fish weren't biting anyway."
"Are you from that new family all of Maycomb's talkin' 'bout? Them McGuccects?" Dill asked.
"Yep, that'd be my folks."
"You should c'mon down to our tree house."Scout said.
"Alrighty, that'd be fine with Pa. Let's go."
When we got to the 'Finch Household", as Alexandrina put it, there were ladies everywhere she made Scout clean up her room. City folk. Then I met Atticus the lawyer who defended a nigger two summers ago.
"Hello son, my name's Atticus Finch."
"Are you the one lawyer who was 'fendin' that nigger?" I asked.
"Why, yes son, that was me."

"I respect a man like you. People who stand up for whats right."
"You kids run along and play now."
