Being the Hogwarts librarian had its perks.

If you became a librarian, obviously, you loved books. And the Hogwarts library was certainly filled will all sorts of books.

But not just books. It was (usually) filled with a very diverse group of students. You have the ones that come in every night and spend approximately five hours doing homework and studying and nothing else. Then there are the relatively normal kids that appear a couple times a week to get a school-related book and occasionally work on a paper for an hour or two. But then you meet the odd ones. The ones that always seem to be doing something dangerous and completely against school rules. When they check out twelve books at once on raising a nundu, you know they're in trouble. There are certainly moments of pride created at some of those tables, though. Not to brag, but One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi was drafted on that worn table by the window. And The Weird Sisters wrote/rehearsed their first ever tune in the back row (I had to kick them out due the disruptance they were causing, but it was very momentous nonetheless).

Some very, very unauthorized things occur in the library, many of them not scholastic or even relatively school-related. There's a niche in the back, near the restricted section, with a table and two chairs, completely out of sight of anybody unless you knew it was there, and let's just say, you wouldn't want to eat your lunch off that table. Ever.

I know I'm not the least liked member of faculty here, but students know enough of me to steer clear on most occasions. I'm also aware that I'm certainly not the most respected teacher, but there are students now and again that take a liking. The rest of the school population probably never gives me a stray thought unless they're speculating the possibility of romance between me and the caretaker.

I'll have more complete tales for you soon, but that's all for now. One of my regulars, Grace Johannson, needs help with her two foot essay on the properties of dragon dung.

A/N This randomly popped into my head today, so here it is. I haven't decided if I'm going to continue it (I probably will) but I make no promises on how consistently I will update it if I do. Hope you enjoyed it. Review, please, I love feedback!
