Ok, I'm going to say this two times, and this is the first: I'm sorry if this isn't great. This is one of those spur of the moment things and I thought what the hey, I'll post the sucker! So uh, yeah, feel free to crit, but only that! No flames! They will just be used for comedic purposes.
DISCLAIMER: Dynasty Warriors belongs to Koei and all that. I don't own it, never have, and sadly never will.
So, yeah, enjoy! 8D
The Call
It started out as a feeling,
Which then grew into a hope;
Which then turned into a quiet thought,
Which then turned into a quiet word.
The land was in chaos. No matter who you were, you wanted it to end, one way or another. Whether it was rebellion with a yellow turban wrapped around your head, or defeating the three extremists and their followers with an empire that you knew was falling apart regardless.
And the empire ended. The Han just couldn't last anymore. But soon, three men felt that they needed to take control. This feeling turned into a hope, an ambition, that they could change the world, shape it into a thing that would last for ages.
This hope grew; it attracted others to follow each individual, sharing that particular person's thoughts on peace and prosperity. From these thoughts came three words: Shu, Wu, and Wei.
And then that word grew louder and louder,
Til it was a battle cry…
I'll come back when you call me,
No need to say goodbye…
But the three ambitions would not mix. Soon they were at war, their battle cries piercing the skies as weapons clashed and blood soaked the ground.
Just because everything's changing,
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before.
All you can do is try to know who your friends are,
As you head off to the war.
Pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light,
You'll come back,
When it's over,
No need to say goodbye.
Yet, it was like this before, wasn't it? Emperors falling, new ones trying to take their place…like an old story, the land replayed its own history over and over. But no one focused on that. They only focused on victory, on tomorrow's battles, and hope that their friends and them can have another drink together again when all is done.
This war lasted for so long…full of tragedy and death, of glorious victories and heartbreaking defeats. The three men lost friends, soldiers, fathers, sisters, brothers. The days of the beginning, of childhoods and studies, are like a lifetime away now.
Then, the three men meet their ends, as all men must someday. Now, the young and fresh generation takes over, with the same fiery passion in their hearts that those before them had.
Now we're back to the beginning,
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet.
But just because they can't feel it too doesn't mean that you have to forget.
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger,
Til they're before you eyes.
You'll come back when they call you,
No need to say goodbye…
But, even though some might want to, no one could ever forget the men who started it all.
You'll come back,
When they call you,
No need to say goodbye….
THE END
