Hello! My new story, complete with Mary Sue-ishness. :D Please read! R&R, loves. (It's named oddly because that's how it was in the interview. :P So everyone here spelled it wrong. x))
The silver-and-black striped tabby tom peered around, his eyes wandering almost lazily, dark as the shadows that crept toward him from the middle of the clearing.
"Ashes, darling?" He said, his ears straining to hear her, his eyes doing likewise. No one replied. He let out a low hiss, wary and confused. "My lovely Ashes would never lie, would she?" He asked himself, asked to the moon and the swaying branches, unsure."No, she was raised better than that," he said, trying to back away slowly, nervous.
"Well, well. Why are you here, Munkuistrap?" A female voice drawled, no-nonsense he would expect from a mother. There wasn't a cat anywhere to be seen, though. And he had the best vision of the clan.
"Who are you? And how do you know 'bout me?" He said, his voice lilting, a scottish drawl vying for her attention. He liked this voice the most. A brown and black calico mix grinned at him, suddenly, from the shadows. She was ragged, but not thin enough that it worried him.
"I? I am the cat you imprisoned, Munk." She said. She loved to scare others away, her heart repenting everything. "If you know naught of me, then you are not real." She drawled, once more, her shadows flickering in the moonlight. Munku was utterly bewildered.
"Uh... Okay?" He said, his accent fading. "D'you know a cat named Ashes? Primal, slightly wild and cruel look 'bout her?" He was trying to see if a spark went in her head, but she remained impassive, her no-nonsense attitude drawing him near slightly. She twitched back, startled by his proximity. She had no idea who this 'Ashes' was, and she wasn't gonna lie about something that obviously held nothing of importance to her.
"If I knew her, she would probably be here now, aye?" The female smirked, just a little, not enough to alarm him. That was his first mistake. "Look, if you really want to know, I'm just here for the kicks," she wasn't interested in him any more than she was a fly, and he was slightly alarmed. Everyone seemed to vy for his attention at some point upon meeting him.
"Um, she doesn't interact much..." he blushed at the memory, confusion in his thoughts. She was everything he wanted, she was everything he seemed to never have. If anyone from the tribe knew of her, they would disapprove immediately. He trusted his brother, Tugger, of all cats with this secret. Little did he know that trust was the last thing on his brother's mind. "Look, I need to get back to.. um.." He was slightly lost in her eyes, her velvet eyes that you could melt in. He gasped slightly, annoyed and confused. Ashes was the one he loved, was she not? But Ashes never seemed interested in talking about herself. In fact, since he had met Ashes over a year ago, he had never heard a thing about her since. She never spoke, just acted. It was difficult for him to keep up with her emotions at times like those.
"I see. Well, it seems you are a long, long away from home, Munk," she said, her face a mask of utter... importance. It wasn't as bothersome as one might think, but it was sill like she knew she could get a rise out of him easily, if she tried hard enough.
End of Chap. 1. Please, for the love of crunchy pancakes, R&R. :3. It was really a first for me to want to go anywhere with this. I usually do poems, so if you want that, and this as a side project, updated every once-in-a-while, then just ask. ^_^
