he was just a blank canvas.
a blank canvas, steve realised. he would adapt to the situations.
the world gave the paint, he gave the texture.
tony was always a prick in steve's neck. but he , as steve found, was always better than him.
this was evident after the chitauri. the man, genius, billionare, play...ex-playboy(estimate),philanthrophist,hero was ready to sacrifice himself. the nuke was the proof. the way he was silent at pietro's funeral was the proof for his courtesy. when he made bruce back away from the roof, the proof that he cared. and he was ten times the man steve ever wanted to be. He would face his problems so bravely, sometimes Steve felt ashamed of himself. He never really digged, did he?
tony, he concluded was a man of many masks. And he his his masks under covered his usual self of a normal human. Steve imaged the last time the avengers were captured. They were placed under therapy. Even Clint was shaken with the torture. Tony hid in his lab, refusing help.
Steve paid him a visit, and instead saw a breakdown. Just as lucky the man could be, Jarvis was there to help. Steve left tony to his personal space, trying to forget tony's face when they were torchering the avengers and him.
"steve!"
oh. steve jumped just in time to escape from the spear aimed for his chest. may god bless natasha.
and may god blast these creatures.
sometimes god does listen. because the next second, all the creatures blasted away in the thin air.
"oh yeah!" voice bellowed in the comms. steve winced. but he imagined the goatee anyway."it worked!" tony jeered. Natasha sighed. It was gonna be hard to deflate tony's ego..neverwind the horrifying thoughts, the avengers arched their backs. tiring work. and the salary? respect.
and solace in THE TOWER.
THE TOWER.
WoW. .wOw.
he remembered when he jumped 500 feet in the air and latched himself to his sheild when he met jarvis for the first time. tony laughed and laughed until his cheeks hurt. well, steve estimated that they did. because tony was frowning right away.
cutting of some slack, Steve blinked his memories away.
not excatly.
because it was a scream that woke him up. A scream of a familiar tthrought.
tony was screaming.
