Mako sat at the bar doing his best to look causal. He had overhead that a possible Triple Threat money transfer was going to happen tonight and there was nothing he enjoyed more then trowing a wrench into the Triad's plans. Quick Hand Hung had set down at a table about an hour before, luckily for the firebender if he pretended to watch the band the mobster was within his eye sight.
Near the end of the band's set Mako noticed Hung getting getting nervous, no one but the waitress had approached his table. Near the end of the last song Hung suddenly bolted for the back door, having already payed his tab Mako set off after him. The back door lead to a small alley, to the left lead to a well lit fountain, on the right hand it was dark. Charging into the darkness the firebender soon found himself at a dead end; turning on his heel Mako rushed to the fountain but several streets breached off from the square and the mobster was gone.
Cursing under his breath Mako studied each the the streets, after confirming that Hung was nowhere the bender stared at the lights bouncing off the water, lost in thought.
"Excuse me." Mako jumped into a fighting stance after being tapped on the shoulder, the young man who had done the tapping stumbled backwards nearly tripping over his drum. Mako recognized him as a member of the band from the bar. "Aren't you a friend of the Avatar?" The drummer asked quickly regaining his balance and confidence.
"If you want to meet with the Avatar you'll have to go to the City Hall" Mako repeated for the umpteenth time since Korra joined the Fire Ferrets.
"Please." A female voice came from the shadows the square. Slowly a tall girl with a high collar jacket stepped forward. Mako turned to go but was stopped by the girl's grip on his wrist. "You have to help me!" The girl was an inch taller then Mako, but quite a few years younger. Suddenly the smell of burnt fabric became present and the girl withdrew her hand in horror. Without a word the girl rushed for fountain, tumbling into the water causing a loud hissing sound as steam rose into the air.
"Don't you see I'm nothing but a danger!"
Now soaking wet the collar of her jacket fell, dark nasty burns covered her neck.
