Hey, it's Sydney! This will be the second poem I post on this website, and it, like the last one, was completely inspired by John Green's "The Fault in Our Stars". I believe the first time I posted a TFiOS poem was back in 2012. WOW. Crazy how popular it's gotten since then! I'm going to see the movie for sure (I got a Fault tshirt for Christmas, and have made all of my friends read the book), are you guys going to see it? Let me know in your reviews! Anyways, thank you for all of the support and nice things you said on the last poem, those lovely comments always make a person feel good. :) Love to you all! x
I may be a grenade,
but you were my demise,
ticking on forever
until I closed my eyes.
Pain demands to be felt,
I feel it when you're away,
in capital-S Somewhere,
but I miss you every day.
We fall into oblivion,
that's inevitable, you see,
but you're my timeless love,
my little infinity.
I stole a piece of the universe,
we're lost amongst the stars,
searching for a future
that was never really ours.
Love, I'm coming home to you,
the earth and I will part our ways,
I can't be a grenade forever,
it's you and I, okay? Okay.
