"A Song Of The Shattering Sky"

By J. Anne of Trista's Timely Tales

-------------------

In a far of time, in a place I've never known, I stand on the shores of infinity and a song echoes softly, stretching out seemingly forever as if carried on the winds of memory.

Are you someone I know? Is this all there is? Will no one help me? Am I all alone in this world... how did I get here?

Diving into the waves of swirling dusk, a whisper grows to the chorus of ages, loud beyond all measure, defining in it's power.

Sound without reason, and song without verse; time rushes by, and disappears in the stillness of my own heart.

From madness and loss, and the end of time, at the end of all I know, I listen with new ears and find there, a melody, beautiful and strong.

Floating now, I'm soaring on, carried by the waves of a melody I drift off as if passing into a dream and beyond me a shimmering wall that reflects the sky.

I reach out for it and I see myself staring back from beyond... "There you are" she says to me, smiling happily, "What are you waiting for?"

So I follow my reflection through though the rippling pool in front of me.

My reflection flies on in the distance as the sky around me shatters to peaces and falls away, I look back and hear a soft voice call out.

Floating through a falling sky, in this world of reflected sky, I can almost see a small hand reach for my own... "Small Lady, is that you?" I call.

"Luna-P!" she replies... My eyes wide with surprise, the sky shatters and breaks, and I fall seemingly forever more until, at last... a door, and I am home.

"Small Lady, I will find you again!"
