"Hold still!" she shouted.
"Sorry." He grinned sheepishly. "It tickles."
"Spencer," she smiled. "Just try and stop moving. Otherwise this scar is going to look like a seismic wave."
Reid laughed. He was the only one who consistently appreciated her nerdy jokes.
"There," she smiled. "Now all you need are," she reached over to her dresser, "the glasses, and your Harry Potter makeup is complete." She gently placed the glasses over the bridge of his nose. He laughed. She adjusted them on his face, and softly brushes his hair. He reached for her neck, and pulled her towards him. Their lips met in a slow, soft kiss. Prentiss pulled away, and Reid playfully hit her with his red and gold scarf. Prentiss giggled and went to grab a bottle of beer from her fridge.
"Have I told you yet how adorable you look?" he casually asked.
"No," she popped the lid off the bottle. "I don't think you have yet."
Prentiss left her hair curly and was wearing a matching Gryffindor scarf. She had a wand tucked in her back pocket. She casually sipped her beer.
"Well," Reid said, "you look very… Hermione. It was a good idea to your mom's party as Harry and Hermione."
Prentiss rolled her eyes and laughed. "Well, every year, Mother tries to think of a fun theme. Last year was animals, but nearly everyone there was a cat or a rabbit. Except for Jerry… he managed to find a penguin costume. But this year Mother figured that movie characters would be easier to pull off."
Reid nodded. He was excited to go to Prentiss' mother's Halloween costume party. He loved being a character, being someone that wasn't himself. For a day, he could forget all of his problems, his awkwardness, and his traumas, and pretend to be something different, unique, and fun.
"And, you know, it's perfect, our costumes."
Prentiss looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"I mean," Reid started, "in the series, it's so obvious that Harry and Hermione are soulmates. So it only makes sense that we go as Harry and Hermione."
Prentiss started to giggle. "Aw, Reid. That's so sweet-"
"But it's true. I've never had more fun in all my life than when I'm with you."
"I- I-"
"You don't have to say anything, Em. I just wanted to tell you that."
"I love you, Spencer."
Reid walked towards her and ran his hands through her hair. "And I love you, too, Hermione. I mean, Emily."
He winked, and Prentiss laughed. "Come on," he offered her his hand. "Let's go party it up."
"Party it up?" Prentiss started laughing.
"Yeah," Reid defended himself. "Party it up."
Prentiss took his hand, and together they walked out of her apartment.
