Hey guys, Kitty here. Yeah so, life's been happening too fast for the last year and a half. To be honest, I haven't had much inspiration and I have a bunch of WIPS but not much motivation until now. I will try to update 'The Tales of Iris' as soon as I can though. Anyways, enjoy!
Prologue
"Mama, where are you doing?" Hinata asked. The six year old girl watched as her mother *Naira hurriedly stuffed several things into a small knapsack. A pout appeared on Hinata's face as she realized that Naira was ignoring her. With a small huff, the six year old sat down on the boat and watched her mother finish packing her things. While waiting, Hinata took off one of her small gloves and watched in fascination as a small flame danced around in her palm.
"Hinata!" Naira said sharply, startling the young girl, the flame immediately disappearing.
"...Yes mama?" Hinata answered timidly.
"What did I tell you about firebending?" Naira asked sternly as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"You..s-said not to firebend," Hinata squeaked as her eyes watered and her lips puckered.
"Thank you," Naira answered shortly. Naira saw that Hinata was about to cry and sighed, a strand of dark brown hair escaping the bun that her hair was contained in. "Hinata, can you at least sit there and be a big girl for mommy?" A smile appeared on Hinata's face just then.
"Okay mama!"
A smile appeared on Naira's face but it didn't quite reach her eyes as she looked down at the little girl that was the splitting image of her. Hinata had the same light brown skin and facial structure as Naira. The only difference was that Hinata had short jet black hair with blunt bangs covering her forehead and thick strands of hair framing her face on both sides along with white pupiless eyes with a small amount of lavender. The two were dressed in typical Southern Water Tribe outfits though they were not wearing their parkas. The mother and daughter duo were currently on a small boat more than thirty miles away from the Southern Water Tribe, about ten miles from the Fire Nation.
"Mama, where are we going?" Hinata asked several moments later, having getting bored. They left the port around five pm and Hinata didn't know how long they had been on the boat.
"It's a surprise sweetheart," Naira replied, though she didn't look at Hinata. Hinata took out one of her dolls that her grandmother made for her. About forty-five minutes later, Naira spotted an island coming into view.
"Mama, look at that island. It's so green!" Hinata shouted. Having grown up in the Southern Water Tribe, Hinata rarely ventured out of the port city and so this was her first time at sea.
"It certainly is Hinata," Naira replied as a blank look soon appeared on her her face. Seeing the island, Hinata felt herself get excited.
"Maybe mama is gonna let me play here for a bit. She did say it was a surprise," Hinata thought as her chest began to swell with anticipation. Several moments later, the boat finally made it ashore. As Naira pushed the small boat further up the shore to prevent it from drifting away, Hinata started running around. A look of amazement appeared on her face as she took in the various flora on the island.
"Wow mama, look at all these pretty flowers!" Hinata shouted before spotting a particular flower and plucking it from the ground. She ran over to Naira and held it up in front of her.
"Look, I got you this flower," Hinata announced while smiling.
"Hinata," Naira said before choking up. She promised she wouldn't let herself get caught up and Hinata's sweet gesture only made what she was about to do even harder. She kneeled down and opened her arms.
"Sweetheart, come here and give mama a hug," Naira said and Hinata eagerly ran towards her and jumped into her arms. As she was hugging Naira, Hinata felt wetness seep into her shoulder.
"Mama?" Hinata asked as she pulled away, a confused look on her face. A smile appeared on Naira's face despite the tears falling down her face.
"Hinata, listen to me. Listen to me real good okay?" Naira said and Hinata nodded. "Remember that mama loves you no matter what happens and that this is for your own good." With that, Naira took the flower from Hinata's hand and placed it into her hair before making her way back to the boat.
"Mama? Where you going?" Hinata asked as she watched Naira push the boat back into the water. "Let me come with you, don't leave me."
"Hinata, mama has to leave but she'll be back for you okay?" Naira said as she continued to push the boat further into the water.
"But mama," Hinata cried feebly, tears starting to fall as she attempted to follow Naira.
"Hinata, don't follow me," Naira warned.
"Mama, don't leave me! I want to go home with you!" Hinata screamed as she tried to run into the water, only to run into a tall block of ice.
"I'm..so sorry Hinata," Naira responded, fully crying at this point. "I'm so sorry my baby. I truly hope you can forgive me someday."
"Mama! Mama! Mama!" Hinata cried as she banged on the ice, inadvertently setting her fists on fire as she watched her mother ride away from her. The sun was close to setting at this point. After watching her mother leave her, Hinata sat on the ground and continued to cry loudly.
"Why would mama leave me? What did I do?" Hinata thought sadly while crying. After about five or ten more minutes, Hinata fell asleep against the semi solid ice wall. As she slept, she was unaware of a stranger nimbly picking her up and carrying her away.
Yeah...so Hinata and her mom Naira are from the Southern Water Tribe but Hinata's a firebender...All will be revealed in due time obviously lol. As for making Hinata a firebender, I based it off the fact that her chakra natures are fire and lightning due to her doujutsu. I could've made her an airbender since both the Gentle Fist and Airbending are based on Baguazhang but that would've been too easy and really lazy lol. Anyways, r&r.
