One last time
(Konan Pein Fanfic)
Like a thorn among roses, I was a female among males. Standing beside my long time partner Nagato, or as most of the akatsuki members know him as Pein, I could feel the anger rising in him. Ever since we met I had a part of my heart stitched with his name. Pein was getting annoyed by the ignorance of the other members. Deidara and Sasori were talking to each other in hushed tones, while Kisame and Itachi completely ignored him. I wanted to comfort him, but not while the others were around.
"Deidara, shut that mouth of yours." I snapped hoping it would calm Pein down a little. Pein barely even took my presence into consideration. He always acted like this when the others were around; it was almost like he didn't want anybody to know about our love. It always caused me a little pain inside when he ignored me, ironic isn't it? Pein causing me pain. It was sadly ironic.
"Deidara, Sasori your new mission in to capture the one tailed Jinchurriki." Pein told them coldly. Deidara yawned.
"The one tails huh? Man why am I always stuck with the lame ones?" Deidara asked agitated.
"Why am I always stuck with Deidara?" Sasori asked in his low husky voice. Deidara looked at Sasori almost insulted.
"I thought you enjoyed coming along with me, un?" Deidara asked almost heart broken.
"Of course I do, but whenever we get stuck together you have all the fun." Sasori told him trying to make it better. Deidara looked at Sasori kindly.
"I forgive you, un." Deidara said almost romantically. I growled under my breath.
"Just go will you!" I almost screamed. Deidara and Sasori both looked at me blankly.
"You don't have to be mean, un." Deidara said giving me a cold look. "Come on we should go, un." Deidara said gesturing for Sasori to come with him. Sasori followed sluggishly.
"As for the rest of you, go." Pein ordered cruelly. The rest of the akatsuki nodded, and all vanished. Finally is if just noticing me, Pein turned toward me.
"That was a boring meeting." I said yawning. Pein just continued to stare at me.
"Konan, do you remember the first time we met?" Pein asked softly.
"Nagato, how could I forget?" I replied with a soft smile. Pein reached over and pulled me against him.
"My love for you has never faded." He told me, his rinnegan eyes glimmering. I gulped feeling a memory come to me. The memory of our meeting.
"Are you okay?" I asked the small boy kindly. He looked so frail with his dark red hair, and strange eyes. He looked up at me frightened. "I'm not going to hurt you, I promise." I told him softly. He nodded wobbly standing up. His knee was bleeding probably from his fall. He stepped forward, falling forward from the lack of strength in his legs. I caught him before he could hit the ground.
"Thank you." He mumbled standing up straight. He tested out his legs and began to walk. I started to walk beside him casually.
"I'm Konan." I told him sweetly smiling. He looked at me, twisting his hair in his finger.
"I'm Nagato." He told me. His eyes remained on the ground.
"So what are you doing out here anyway?" I asked gesturing to the surrounding forest. Nagato shrugged.
"Just wandering." He told me still using his mumbling voice.
