The trees were just starting to turn from green to the lovely shades of autumn, and the temperature was just right. Under the trees by the Great Lake, couples often lay and relax, getting away from the hustle and bustle of Hogwarts. That was certainly the case for Ginny Weasley and Draco Malfoy. The two had been dating since early the year before. There were bumps yes (especially thanks to Ron), but things had smoothed out.

"I still can't believe you," Ginny spoke, absentmindedly drawing patterns on Draco's chest.

"Oh?" He questioned, "And why is that, Red?" Draco always spoke to her with a certain sort of admiration and affection in his tone.

"You are too annoyingly perfect. Really you should stop." She said matter-of-factly.

"Sorry, is it an inconvenience to you? I must stop then, it has to be against the law to inconvenience a beautiful girl like you." She and Draco did this often. They joked and flirted as if they had only just started dating.

Ginny smiled and looked out into the distance shaking her head. "This is why I love you." She then felt Draco tense under her and realized what she had said. "Oh my god, I didn't meant to say that I-" Draco cut her off with a quick kiss.

"Me too." He said smiling at her before changing the subject.

Soon the year was almost over, and Ginny had grown more comfortable with say those three words to Draco. However Draco's only response was a charming "Me too." and a kiss before either silence or a topic change. Finally Ginny had had enough.

"I love you." She spoke, all her sincerity spilling out of her tone. When Draco said those annoying two words, something snapped inside her. "Is that it? Is that all you can say. You call me Perfect and pretty and say I'm worth all the trouble Slytherin gives you for dating me, but you can't even say you love me? The 'me too' was adorable at first, but god, I just want to hear you say those three words." Draco looked very shocked at this outburst, he had yet to feel her anger against him, but knew how power she was when she was fully angry. In the midst of his shock, he started to laugh. That only made Ginny more upset. "What is so funny?" She asked her voiced flat and uncaring.

"You are, love." When Draco noticed her raise an eyebrow he put up his hands. "Let me explain first, Women. I find it so ridiculous that you wouldn't know that by saying you are perfect and you are worth it and the me too, I was saying I love you." Ginny rolled her eyes.

"I know that you dolt, and I know you're parents weren't the best at showing you love. But it makes me feel like this is all just a joke to you." She crossed her arms and lowered her head, her insecurities fully appearing. Draco frowned, not sure how to respond.

"As much as I'd love to blame my parents, they can't save me from my own fault. I am scared I suppose. Scared of love, of admitting to myself that I love you, and most importantly, scared of losing you. And I am not sure how that connects but it does, and I am not the brave Gryffindor you are, Gin. When I'm scared of something, I either pretend it doesn't exist or run from it. But I don't want to do that here. Because Ginevra Molly Weasley, I love you, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon." There was a silence before Ginny responded.

"Are you done with your speech?" Draco nodded, a sketch of nervousness crossing his face. "Good, I wouldn't want to interrupt you." And with that, Ginny grabbed Draco by the shirt and pulled him into a fiery kiss.
