This is written on the occasion of Daniela's birthday. Happy Birthday Dani!

I don't own NCIS:LA.

Deeks walked in the bullpen full of excitement and happiness. Today was his girlfriend's birthday. And he was planning for her something big. When he arrived, Callen and Sam were already there. They noticed the happy Deeks and they couldn't just look but ask him. "What's the source of your happiness?" Callen asked first.

"Today, it's Kensi's birthday."

"What did you get her this year?" Sam asked.

Deeks opened his bag and took out a small blue box and showed it to them. "Is that what I think it is?" Callen asked.

"Oh yeah. I'm going to propose her tonight." and he stopped talking when he saw her coming and he put the box back in his bag.

Kensi noticed that something suspicious was going on and she looked at them with an interrogating look. "What's going on?"

"Nothing, nothing. We were just talking here. Nothing specific." Deeks said.

She knew he was lying but she didn't want to talk about it anymore. She was sad. She thought Deeks had forgotten her birthday. It was her first birthday as a couple and she couldn't believe that he forgot it. She was lost in her thoughts when she heard Eric whistling from the stairs, calling them in Ops. Without saying anything, she made her way up. As the boys approached Eric at the stairs, he asked them. "Um, should I tell her happy birthday?"

"No, no, no. I have a surprise for her. Please don't blow it." Deeks explained and Eric nodded his head for understanding.

The day passed with the team solving another case. Kensi was more than happy at night. The case had closed early and she could go home. She thought that this year's birthday had been the worse. Not only was she getting older but none of her friends had actually remembered it. She walked in the bullpen with Callen and Sam, returning from the boatshed. Deeks wasn't with them. She thought he would be at the Mission but he wasn't there either. "Nell, where is Deeks?" she asked her seeing her there.

"He said he had something to do and he left earlier." The disappointment was drawn on her face. She packed her things and left. "She seems down." Nell said after Kensi was gone.

"Don't worry. Deeks is going to cheer her up." Sam said and laughed.

She drove to her house alone. During the ride, she was listening to a song her father had wrote and recorded on her fifteenth birthday. She was listening to it every single year. She parked outside her house and got out. She was so sad that she didn't notice the familiar car a few meters away from her. She got in home, threw her bag to the couch and took off her shoes. She went to the kitchen and opened the fridge looking for something to eat. And as usual there was nothing in but some beer bottles. She decided to order something. Before picking up the phone, she made her way to her bedroom to change.

When she opened the door, the dark she was expecting to see was replaced with a red romantic light. Her bed was laid and there were rose petals on it. There were also red candles. Deeks was standing in the corner dressed in a black shirt and trousers. She had frozen. He approached her and wiped away some tears that had started coming down. "Happy Birthday." He saw the surprise on her face and asked her "Do you really think I forgot it?" He took her by the hand and she sat on the edge of the bed. He knelt in from of her and took out of the small blue box. He opened it and her eyes became wet from the tears. She was speechless. "Kensi Marie Blye, love of my life, will you marry me?"

She was shocked. She didn't expect it. However, she didn't have any hesitation. "Yes, yes, yes!" She jumped and kissed him with passion. He placed the ring in the finger and smiled at her. "It's the perfect birthday present ever."

After all, this year's birthday was the best of her life.

I really hope you liked it. Let me know.
