Don't own Kingdom Hearts. If I did, my story would be canon.
Aqua felt a familiar flame of happiness rising within her when she saw Sora walking closer to the prone form of Ven sleeping on the throne. Her friend was about to wake up, and they, along with Sora and his friends would help save Terra.
Everything would be back the way it was, and the world will be free of darkness once more. She held her breath when she saw Sora press his hands where Ven's heart should be, closed his eyes, and concentrated. A white sphere of light went out of Sora's chest, and disappeared into Ven's.
Her happiness increased tenfold when she saw Ven's eyes open for the first time in years. Her happiness faded to concern when she saw Sora press the palm of his hand against his head like he was fighting a headache. Then Sora let out a tired sigh, and began to fall to the ground.
Ven caught the boy in his arms, and Aqua was confused by the look he was giving him. Ven's eyes were filled with awe, gratitude, and a bit of a brotherly love. Why did he feel like that? He couldn't have been in Sora's heart until recently, right?
Both of them kept watch while Sora slept. Ven had told Aqua that Sora was in a natural sleep, so he could wake up anytime. It was then Aqua decided to show Ven how much she missed him. Ven let out a startled gasp when Aqua scooped him into her arms, pulling him in a tight embrace. He chuckled kindly, and wrapped his arms around her in turn.
Aqua's eyes brimmed with tears, and she looked at Ven with love, "I really missed you." Ven smiled at her, "I missed you too." His smile faded when he thought of their fallen friend, "Terra?"
Aqua looked down, a lone tear traveling down her cheek. "He's lost in the darkness." Ven gave her a look of determination, "That's not true. Sure, he's in the side of darkness, but there is still a little light in him. Terra's still there, and if we don't believe that, none of us could have any hope in bringing him back to us."
A groan interrupted their conversation, and Ven went toward Sora, and murmured some foreign words into his ear. Sora let out a relaxed sigh, and fell back into a peaceful slumber. A brotherly smile graced Ven's lips, and he smoothed the bangs from Sora's eyes.
Aqua gave him a blank look, "Why?" "Why what?" "Why do you look at him like that? You look at him like you're his brother…" Ven kept his eyes on Sora while he answered, "My heart found him when he was four years old, Aqua. He helped save my life. If it wasn't for him, Vanitas would still have control over my heart, and the Keyblade Wars would have started again. He helped complete my heart. I owe more to him than I could anyone else."
Aqua smiled, pleasant feelings of friendship for Sora and Ven (maybe more for Ven?) filling her. They were her lights in the darkness; Ven was the light of rememberance and friendship, Sora for hope and new beginnings.
The war for light or darkness will begin soon, but for now, Aqua was content to gaze up at the night sky and the millions of worlds waiting for her return.

Man, I never wrote anything that deep. I amaze myself!
