It all started that day.

That one day when he got her alone and gave her one of his famous looks. Next thing she knew, he had drawn her in and his lips were on hers. There was no hurry and their lips moved ever so slowly. His scent was intoxicating and she pressed in closer so she could get some more of it. Her hair was so soft he just couldn't resist, his hands stroked the cherry red strands. As they pulled a part, they looked into each other's eyes and breathed slowly to comprehend all that just happened. Then the sound of footsteps was heard and they pulled a part as if nothing had happened. They shared a secret smile and walked away to their next class.

It seemed so real

He always came to her when he had a problem. It was usually about his numerous ex-girlfriends. She would listen carefully while choking down the jealousy and soothe him. It never mattered that he was almost always drunk and only used her as a rebound. Then he would kiss her and she forgot all about the other girls. Afterwards, he would slowly fall asleep and whisper how much he loved her. She knew they were lies but he was a convincing actor and she was a dreamer. He was always gone before morning without a thank you or goodbye. It killed her when he had his arm wound around another girl and didn't even think to glance her way. It was as if the night before had never happened but she tried to forget the sadness and fake the cheerful bubbliness.

It was forbidden

Every whispered word, every stolen kiss, it was all forbidden. Maybe it was because he always had a girlfriend of some sort or that she always gave in. His touch was tantalizing and her skin would always tingle. No matter how illegal it was for the two of them to be together, they did it anyway. Pretty soon, it moved on from being just touching and kissing. She would stay overnight and it would just be a night full of passion and revenge. He was never sorry for the marks he left on her or the fact that he used her just to play around. Did she ever care? No, because she fell for him deeply and was willing to believe anything he said.

It came to a tragic end

After two years, their "relationship" came to a halting stop. All along, she had hoped that she would become something more than just a rebound. Eventually, she had enough. She marched toward him during lunch with one thing on her mind. Taking a deep breath, she said the one thing she should've said a long time ago.

"I'm sorry Beck, but I can't be your toy anymore. I just can't do it." She said slowly.

"What do you mean, we had a good thing going on here!" he insisted.

"I just can't, its obvious you don't feel the same way I do."

"Whatever, I have others. Who said I ever needed you anyway?"

It was then her fragile heart broke in two. She had ignored the fact that she wasn't the only one but her worst nightmare had finally come true. Everything she had oppressed during the last two years came flowing out of her in tears. With tears going down her perfect skin, she said, "I believed you were different from all the others, Beck, but you are not. And the saddest thing is, I thought you actually cared. I was a stupid girl for falling for you in the first place."

"Yeah, that's cool. Bye Cat" he said nonchalantly, paying more attention to his sandwich.

With that, she slowly walked away and with each step, her perfect world crumbled to pieces.
