Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Thomas and the Conductor" from Season 1. Enjoy and comment.
Thomas the Tank Engine is very proud of his branch-line. He thinks that it's the most important part of the railway.
His two coaches, Annie and Clarabel, agree with him.
Annie can only take passengers, but Clarabel can take baggage and the conductor.
Even though Annie and Clarabel are old, Thomas loves them very much.
They don't mind what Thomas says, because they think he's trying to please Sir Topham Hatt, and when Thomas is cross, they know that he's not cross at them.
One day, Thomas had to wait for Henry's train, which made Thomas very cross.
"How can I be on-time, if Henry's always running late?" thought Thomas. "He knows Sir Topham Hatt depends on me!"
Thomas whistled impatiently. He wanted to leave, but he had to wait for Henry's passengers.
At last, Henry arrived, very tired out.
"Where have you been, lazybones?" asked Thomas.
"Nobody understands my needs." moaned Henry.
"Rubbish!" said Thomas. "You're the slowest engine on Sodor!"
The conductor blew his whistle, and Thomas set off… not realizing that he had forgotten the conductor!
The conductor waved his red flag to stop Thomas, but it was no use.
"Come along, come along!" puffed Thomas.
Clarabel didn't want to "come"
"You've forgotten the conductor, you've forgotten the conductor!" she sobbed.
Annie tried to tell Thomas what had happened.
"We have no conductor, we have no conductor!"
But Thomas didn't listen.
Annie and Clarabel tried to apply their brakes, but they couldn't without the conductor!
Finally, Thomas stopped at a signal.
"Bother that signal!" snapped Thomas. "What's the matter?"
"The conductor will tell us in a minute." said the driver.
They waited and waited, but the conductor didn't come.
"Where is the conductor?" asked Thomas.
"We've left him behind!" wailed Annie and Clarabel.
Then, they saw the conductor running up the track!
He was very hot and tired, so he had a nice cold drink.
"I'm very sorry." said Thomas.
"We all make mistakes." replied the conductor.
Soon, the signal dropped, and Thomas set off again.
Annie and Clarabel were pleased to have their conductor back.
Thomas made it to the last station at record time, and everyone was very pleased.
