"Aishiteru yo," Izayoi told Saguru ever so softly as her fear of rejection slowly but painfully enveloped her.

"Honto?" Saguru asked, smirking as his eyes pierced through hers.

"Honma da yo!" the female detective answered as she looked away. A blush slowly crept to her cheeks despite the feeling of her eyes welling up with tears that were threatening to spill out the moment he spoke.

Suddenly, Saguru held her close, buried his face into her hair and whispered ever so gently in her ear.

"To be perfectly honest, Izayoi…"

And the tears that sat on the brim of her brown eyes gushed forth and flowed down her cheeks. She knew that he was going to say something, and whatever it was, she feared it greatly.

"Why are you crying? Daisuki yo," the British detective said.

Izayoi gasped as she hugged Saguru tight and let more tears flow. But this time, they were not tears of sadness, fear, and regret; the tears that flowed were tears of joy and relief. The feeling of her love's aching relieved crashed inside her like waves as they crash against the shore.

Forgetting their location and the people watching them, he held her waist and pushed her back. He held her chin and kissed her sweetly.

That kiss, oh, that kiss! With that kiss, she knew that her myriad of dreams and hopes of sharing a life with Saguru were not in vain.

And at that moment, all that mattered to them was each other.

Nothing else.
