Bloodstained Nightmare
The house was shrouded in an eerie darkness and the shadows danced across the walls as if the place were alive. A loud crash of thunder broke the seemingly endless silence and shocked Lucy out of her trance. Scanning the room in a panic, she struggled for anything that looked like an exit, she shouldn't be here, no-one should be here. She searched and searched the darkened room until realisation hit her, she was trapped.
With nothing else to do, Lucy sunk down to the cold, hard-wood floor and huddle up within herself. Knees to her chest, arms holding them in place, clenching at her legs until her knuckles turned white. She was scared; no she was terrified of what hid beyond the darkness, afraid of what could not be seen.
Suddenly she could hear what wasn't there before, she wasn't alone. She held her breath so that her gasps wouldn't block out the sound, so she could try and determine what was with her. She could hear calm steady breathing, and her heart began to race. Suddenly all she could hear was the racing of her heart in her ears, and the short breathes, panicked gasps escaping her mouth. Someone was her with her, and they seemed perfectly content where they were, this couldn't be, it wouldn't be, would it?
But even as her mind raced, trying to convince her otherwise, a small voice of reason and rationality in the back of her mind told her to calm down, that she was wrong, it was too late and he was here.
