Hermione woke early, wanting to leave before she changed her mind. She wasn't happy about what she was going to do but McGonagall had chosen her for a reason. She dressed quickly then apparated to Kings Cross station where she would take the train to Hogwarts. It was strange, she hadn't set foot in the castle since the battle. As she waited on the train she became increasingly nervous for her journey ahead, not the train journey but her knew that it was a one way journey but it had to be done. She didn't have to worry about anyone missing her because she had never lifted the memory charm on her parents and she had cast one on Ron and Harry or else they wouldn't let her come. She knew that this would not be easy but she needed to go it for the sake of the Wizarding world.
She tried to push her thoughts aside concentrating on the scenery changes as she flew past on the train.
She arrived at Hogwarts late, noticing that most of the lights were in the castle were off. She assumed most of the students were asleep by now. She slowly stalked to McGonagall's office, pausing to give respect to Dumbledore's statue. "Lemon drops." she said clearly and the huge phoenix statue started winding its way up to the headmasters office.

"McGonagall?

"Yes Ms. Granger. I have been expecting you for the mission you are about to embark on. I have this letter you must give to Dumbledore when you see him. Are you ready?"

"Yes professor."

"Now remember Ms. Granger, if you manage to change anything you will not be able to come home. If your not up to this I understand."

"I'll be fine."

McGonagall handed her the letter then placed something about her neck. "This is the last one in existence." Hermione sighed and readied herself. She grabbed her small purse opened it and shook it, McGonagall heard what sounded like books falling.

"I'm ready now.""Three turns should do it then Ms. Granger." she sucked in a deep breath, turned the necklace the times then felt herself depart from the present.
