Severus Snape strolled through the dungeons halls; enjoying the silence of Christmas break. A sudden chill down his spine and he pulled his robes closer to him. Turning down a dark hallway, he entered his darkened classroom; slamming the door behind him. Scanning the room, he was greeted by a familiar shadow.
"Good evening, Severus" Lucius Malfoy greeted his friend. He was leaning against the wooded desk at the front of his room. His blond hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail. His dark robes encircled his tall frame. His cane was propped against his side.
"Evening, Lucius." Severus sauntered up to the front of his classroom. "What do I own this nightly visit?"
"Does a friend need a reason to visit?"
Severus eyes him suspiciously. "No, I guess not. But I can not help but wonder why, Lucius?"
A smirk appeared on his face. "I have a Christmas gift for you, my friend. I was told you were in need of one."
Professor Snape narrowed his eyes. 'What could I possibly need?'
The smirk remained on Lucius's lips as he grabbed hold of his cane and began to walk towards the door. Swiftly opening the door, Snape watched him nod his head to something in the hall way. Lucius turned sharply towards to front, his long robes fluttering around him.
Snape looked past his old friend to the doorway. Draco, Lucius's son, was dragging a wriggling, squirming girl by the hair. Lucius quickly shut the door and cast a silencing charm.
Severus stood motionless, watching Draco yanking the girl up the length of the classroom. They stopped shy of his feet. He couldn't see her face, but noticed her school robes. A golden lion peered up at him. Her hands and feet were bounded and her school tie was used as a crude gag.
Lucius appeared at his son's side. He stretched his hand out, smoothing down the girls wild brown hair.
"What do you think of your gift?" he commented.
Severus remained silent.
"I believe-" Lucius reached under the girl's chin and he tilted it up. " – she is one of your students."
Hermione Granger's large brown eyes started up at him. They seemed to plead for help.
"Yes, she is one of my students" Snape replied, looking away from her eyes.
"Native, little mudblood" Lucius began stroking her cheek. "We caught her in the lilbrary"
Suddenly he grabbed the back of her head and jerked back. A black, thick collar with a silver loop encased her neck. Draco reached into his robes and produced a leash. Handing it over to his father, Lucius attached the leash to Hermione's collar.
Winding the leash around his gloved hand, he pulled sharply on the leash. Hermione struggled from being choked. Lucius began to walk to length of the room. Hermione resisted being pulled around. But after being choked for the second time, she tried to crawl the best she could.
"All mudblood's should come with a leash" Draco sneered. "Don't you think, Professor?"
Snape remained silent.
