If life was an idle clicker: Ruby Rose!
Ruby was lying in bed, it was nearly time to get up and she was hungry but something weird had happened. Last night she'd fell asleep like any other night but she awoke with a little watch with a screen on her wrist, was it from dad? On the screen were four bars, each with a button next to them, labelled STR, AGI, INT, LUK respectively. The watch went with the colour scheme she had going so it was fine to keep. Stats, she'd played more than enough games to know what they all meant but what were they for, it was just a watch, or so she thought. With a tap of the STR button she got up, went into the kitchen, and made a bowl of cereal.
"Hey sis, you ready for a day of really tough training?" Yang asked, making her a bowl of honey-Os.
"You betcha Yang, I'm gonna fight you!" Ruby replied with a smug grin.
"Oh, you think you can beat me huh? Bring it on!" the two ate up their breakfast as quickly as they could, then rushed up the stairs to beat the other to the bathroom. Yang threw herself in, slamming into the wall but still managing to lock the door as she rolled along.
"Fine, I'll just go get dressed..." Ruby sighed. Defeated, she returned to her room to put on her dress. She looked down at her watch, the bar had almost filled so once she had slipped on the rest of her clothes she stared at it, waiting for it to finish.
When the bar filled, a message appeared on the watch, 'Your overall Strength and Endurance has increased', but the strangest thing was that Ruby really did feel slightly stronger. It wasn't a massive increase but it felt like a little shock had gone through her body.
She looked back down at the watch, intending to increase another stat but there was another message, 'You have unlocked the stat screen, it will appear on the main interface of the watch.' The message quickly disappeared leaving the original screen with a blue button which 'unbelievably' had the word stats written on it.
"Ruby! Come down here, we've got a fight to have!" Ruby was confident, at least slightly more-so than she was before, her newfound strength would push her along, she was sure of it. She rose from her bed, walked down the stairs in feint slow-motion and when she got to the bottom and saw Yang, she pulled out a pair of shades, flicked them open and slowly put them on. Yang just sighed at Ruby's meagre attempt to look cool and walked out the door,
"Damn, I should've used a smoke machine..."
I know this is short but it's just a preview, a chapter 0 if you will, I hope this actually interests some people because I intend to write this type of fiction with a whole load of different characters from different time and universes.
This is also a slight update because I realised I hadn't paragraphed different people's speech.
