Change of the weather
"Hey Annabeth?" I say breaking the peaceful silence. Annabeth coming over to my house for a sleep over was always a usually thing, even now when I'm 15.
"Yeah?" She said in a sleepy voice.
"Have you had your first kiss yet?" I asked. This question had always bothered me. For some reason thinking she would be kissing someone other guy, it mad me kind of mad; no not mad, jealous, it made me jealous. She sat up fully awake now.
"What do you mean?" I rolled off my bed landing on the floor next to her with a big thump. I sighed, not understanding what not to understand.
"Have you kissed anyone yet?"
"No, haven't. Why, have you?" "Nah, I just had this crazy idea." "Are you going to tell me?" I could just visualize her blonde eyebrow raised. "I wasn't planning on it"
"Aw come on Percy, tell meee." she pleaded. I sighed again, the second time in the night.
"Fine. Well I was thinking maybe uh we could kiss." I said, my voice trailing off at the end; I could feel my face flushing. Thinking for a moment she shrugged her shoulders and said. "Sure, people kiss all the time." she continued. I shrugged my shoulders too.
"Okay ready."
"Ready" I started to lean in, all puckered up, but stopped short when I heard laughing. I open my eyes to see Annabeth lying on the navy blue comforter with her face in
her hands laughing hysterically.
"Oh-I- can't do this- your face." she counted to laugh, but stop when she saw I was hovering over her.
"Wha-what are you doing." she stammered. I leaned in so close I could feel her breath on my lips.
"Kissing you." She looped her slender arms around my neck "I swear one day you're going to be the death of Me." she whispered right before she smashed her lips with mine. The kiss couldn't have been to long, or maybe it went on for hours. All I could feel was soft lips moving against mine in such a rhythm that my brain turned to corn mush in a matter of seconds.
We were both blushing like crazy when we broke apart. My heart was beating so fast against my chest I wondered if she could her it. She released her clasp on my neck and I removed the one hand that had mysterious wound up around her skinny waist. I began to get off the floor when said I.
"Good night Annbeth."
"Good night Percy."
"Annabeth?" I said right before I climbed under the cozy covers.
"Yeah?"
"This doesn't change anything, right?" I asked biting my lip so hard I could taste blood.
"Yeah it doesn't change anything." I went under my covers feeling the warmness. I lay there for a while until I heard her softly snoring and turned to face her. Not to be creepy, but she looked beautiful when she slept, her high cheek bones stood out, rosy like always, her pink mouth was slightly parted showing off her perfectly straight teeth, her grey eyes were masked under her eye lids, her blond hair was spread out across the white pillow. Her hair was my favorite part. Her curls were perfect and delicate that reached to about shoulder length, maybe a little longer. She always hated her hair and her eyes. She says that they are boring, bland. But to me I think they are really pretty. She signed in her sleep and turned over on her side facing me. I panicked and moved to look up at the ceiling.
Nothings changed, nothings changed I kept repeating in my head even though I knew it wasn't true. Something did change, and it wasn't the weather.
