A/N: I find SeverusLily so, so, sad. :'( Tragic.
Dedicated to Deborah, XH, Karen, and Amber, whom I might never get to see again :(
It was an October afternoon.
Laughing, beneath that tree, beneath the falling leaves. The colour was the same shade as her hair - orange and red and slightly brown, in the sunlight.
She's listening and singing along to songs from the muggle radio that he doesn't even know but he likes the melody of. She's playing in the grass and using her magic to make flowers blossom underneath her feet. She's catching the leaves falling from the sky and he's sitting at one side, just content with watching her.
He swears he never saw anyone with more resemblance to a goddess before.
He wraps his hand around hers tightly, and takes the fact that she's not pulling away as a good sign.
There are pictures everywhere. His bedside table, on the drawers, on his desk.
Pictures of those October afternoons together. Her gorgeous smiles. He doesn't know why they look so special.
Maybe it's her. She's special.
And yet now they still come down to nothingness - she's gone. She's married to someone else. He'll never get her back.
He wasn't even sent an invitation - her childhood friend - for 6 years -
And the sentence echoes in his head again, the exact same way he spat at her so many years ago.
"I don't need help from filthy little Mudbloods like her!"
Maybe it was the way the falling leaves reminded him of her so much. This was the exact same place. If only it were that day.
If only he could still get her back. If only she hadn't been gone.
Really gone.
How could it be that she was - she left so suddenly? How many words had he left unsaid to her? He would never get another chance. Another chance to tell her that he loved her more than anything else.
All the colours in his world died along with her. Gone. The pictures in the background faded to black and white - only the falling leaves retained their colour.
Orange and red and slightly brown, in the sunlight.
A/N: I know this was super random and really short :) Just a sudden inspiration - when I was reminded that this would be the last year together with my awesome friends. Don't leave any words unsaid. Review please :)
