I sit on my couch, reading An Interview with a Vampire. I'm on the final chapter when the doorbell rings. I get up and walk to the front door. I swing the door open and see Eli.

"E-Eli?" I say in shock.

"Hey, Saint Clare." he says. I bite my lip. Elijah Goldsworthy never shows up to my doorstep.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I was wondering if you would like to watch a movie." Eli answers. He gives me a crooked smile. I nod and let him in.

I make microwave popcorn while Eli chooses a movie.

"Eli? Why do you want to watch a movie with me?" I ask. Eli turns around and walks up to me.

"Because I want us to be friends. I mean, there's nothing awkward between us, right?" Eli says. I nod.

Eli picks the movie Pride and Prejudice. We sit on the couch with at least nine inches between us. I look at Eli. I feel warm inside. What if I'm not over him?

In the middle of the movie, Eli falls asleep. I move closer to him. Five inches. I move closer. Two inches. Then I rest my head on his shoulder. His body smells like cologne, and his hair smells like the ocean. I soak it all in. Suddenly, Eli wakes up. I close my eyes and pretend I'm asleep. I feel Eli's hand on my face. Then I feel his soft lips press against mine.

I open my eyes and push him back. The magic disappears. Eli stares at me. I bite my lip and feel the tenderness of where I bit it before.

"Clare, I'm really sorry. I wasn't over you an-" Eli starts. I lean forward and kiss him on the cheek. I caress his face.

"Can I be yours?" I ask. Eli smiles and wraps his arm around my waist. We sit there and watch the rest of the movie.

The next day I wake up on my couch, with Eli next to me. I'm still in his arms. We must've fallen asleep after the movie. I tap Eli on the shoulder.

"Cece, it's Saturday." he groans. I tap Eli sharply again.

"Eli." I whisper in his ear. He opens his eyes and turns his head around to see me. I stare into his mesmerizing jade eyes. Eli kisses me slowly. I pull away and smile. I stand up.

"I'm going to take a shower. No snooping in my room, my parent's room, or Jake's room." I say forcefully. Eli presses his lips together and holds his hands up like he's been caught by the cops. I smile and nod. I lean down and kiss Eli on the cheek.

"I will stay zen." he says. I giggle a bit.

Then I walk to my room to pick out my clothes for the day.

I walk out of the bathroom fully dressed. My hair is still wet, and for once, straight. I walk into the living room. Eli's on the couch, reading a book. I sit down next to him. Eli doesn't notice me.

"Earth to Elijah!" I call. He sets the book on the coffee table quickly.

"Sorry. Chuck Palahniuk does that to me." Eli says.

"Yeah. Anne Rice does that to me." I say. I begin to blush. Eli intertwines his fingers in mine. I smile and look into his eyes. Eli gives me a crooked smile.

"You look beautiful when you blush." he says sweetly. I blush even harder. I crawl up next to him and lay down. Eli lets go of my hand to wrap his arms around me. I feel safe and warm in his arms.

"I really do love you." I whisper. Eli kisses my head and lets me lie my head on his chest. I close my eyes.
