Okay I seriously have no excuses for not updating this. After 3 years I decided to give this fic a chance once again. My writing has improved alot and I know how terrible I am for not rewriting this sooner. So you are welcome, not to read it, if you don't want to. Though even if I am not in the fandom anymore I tried my best with this. It will be written in two parts, this is the first one. Enjoy!
A huge crowd surrounded the cheerful auburn haired boy who grabbed the mic, a wide smile on his face. Everyone clapped their hands cheerfully as he started pumping his head to the rhythm.
"Thank you for coming all the way here to see us play everyone!" He exclaimed as he leaned closer, his hands brushing against some of the girls in the front row who almost screamed from happiness - scratch that they did-, he took some steps back before doing a short bow "We are going to have fun, okay?!" With that he started playing his guitar, his fingertips moving up and down as the drummer smiled at him. He raised his hands up and started clapping, everyone underneath followed suit. His voice echoed loud and clear as everyone held their breaths waiting for him to start, when his lips started moving, fireworks shot in the sky.
"The things I have been wanting to tell you are taken away by the wind
As I try to speak it roars
I forget all my fears and walk forward wanting to let you know how much you have changed cause of you
Laugh with me as we remember that day
The clouds still cover our skies but we try our best to forget them and let the sun shine on our hearts
Those little words that I have been wanting to tell you
Are still written in my mind
Echoing over and over
I have changed but still it's hard for me to be so honest
The memories of the times we were children
Are coming back to me
And I know
Those days are still here with me
Even if you are faraway and I can't see you anymore
Even if I cant hodl your hand while the thunder strikes
I know my words will reach you
My friend, have you changed as well?
I want you to know that as long as we see the same sky
I will be there for you."
They continued playing until the sun was no longer on the sky. The brown haired guitar player smiled brightly.
"We were C-A-R-D-S! We love you!" And with that shadow loomed over the band and soon they had disappeared from the stage living only their instruments there, as the lights shone again.
"Man that was great but I am freaking exhausted!" The main singer stated as he landed on the couch a smile on his lips. Everyone else chuckled at the cheerful attitude of the young guitarist.
"Kukai, you seriously don't look exhausted to me, what's up with all that energy?" The older member of the group, their bassist, Ikuto commented leaning against the wall, a smirk on his face. Kukai sometimes thought that smirk was plastered on his face cause that was his most used expression.
"As if, you are any better, ready to bite me with snarky comments already." Kukai responded with a grin on his face and Ikuto's dark blue eyes looked amused for a single moment.
"Ah, ah please don't fight again, you two." A blond haired boy said with a sigh as he stepped between them, emerald and azure eyes focused at him for a moment before Kukai decided to respond.
"You know, we are not fighting, Hotori, no need to be like that." The guitarist said as he yawned and put his arms behind his head, cracking one eye open to look at the keyboard player "No need to get anxious about every little thing."
"B-But your fight last week was pretty seri-"
"That was nothing!"
"Utau was screaming rather angrily at you though, Souma-kun and Ikuto's expression wasn't the best either." Kukai pouted slightly and sighed.
"I guess….well not my fault, she lost at our ramen contest!" Ikuto glared at him and Kukai avoided his gaze "Geez." He murmured.
"You all are being so loud again." A soft voice mused as a long haired boy with golden eyes entered the room with his arms on his hips, a mischievous glint in those hazel hues. Everyone gulped for a moment knowing that it would be bad if they continued while Nagihiko was there. Sometimes his temper was just…unpredictable to say the least.
"I want to play soccer again." Kukai's voice broke the silence as he closed his eyes "We have been so busy with our concerts, running back and forth and practicing that I haven't been able to play at all…and you all know how much I love soccer, right?" They all nodded, they would always find the brown haired boy sleeping with his guitar at his side and a soccer ball only some meters away. He couldn't sleep with them, no matter how ridiculous that sounded.
"Do you really want to?" The drummer questioned as he smiled slightly "Well, I may give you a solution then." Now he had totally captured the guitarist's attention with that. His eyes were now only focused on his friend who was smiling "How about we both go on a small trip? Somewhere with no Paparazzi or anything."
"How will we do that, Nagi? And you got my hopes up, geez." Nagihiko smiled and winked "I know just the perfect place, nobody will suspect us in there. However…we will go only the both of us, okay? Sorry Tadase, Ikuto. I can only host one more person in there." The pair shrugged not really minding it.
"Eh? Hosting? Where are we going to go?"
"That is a secret. I will text you the location and we will be good to go in the morning okay?" The long haired boy said as he grabbed his mobile, he would need to make some calls soon. Kukai rubbed his neck and grinned.
"Oh well it sounds fun!"
Several hours later, the following morning Kukai decided that it wasn't actually that much fun. They had drove on Nagihiko's older car, which was a white Toyota all the way to the mountain, at first Kukai looked around in awe like a little child but after a bit, they had so many turns that his stomach was starting to feel upset.
"My stomach, ugh."
"Who told you to eat breakfast?"
"Well, you didn't warn me." The hazel eyed driver chuckled and looked in front of him as they passed a huge wisteria.
"We are pretty close so there is no need to complain like that, Kukai."
"That's what you say…" The boy murmured and looked outside of the window with a bored expression, he wanted to just lay down and rest for a bit. They had woken up pretty early to head out after all. He closed his eyes and soon he was asleep. A small smile appeared on his companion's face at that as he hummed a part of their new song.
"Forgetting the world, we close our eyes and search for our dreams."
"Ah! The tea!" The pink haired girl cried out as she slipped and the cup flew from her hands to the air for a horrifying second before another figure appeared out of nowhere and caught it.
"You should be more careful, Amu. " A soft voice echoed in her ears and a girl much shorter than her with long blond locks looked at her.
"Phew, thank god, you reached in time, Rima. Nagihiko would have killed me if I broke this cup." The pinkette said wiping some sweat from her brow and smiling at her friend who sighed at her.
"Yes, he would have and for a good reason as well." The golden eyed girl side-glanced at her "I know you are excited since Souma-san is coming back too but no need to mess up everything." Amu's face became crimson and she crossed her arms looking away.
"W-W-Who is excited?!" She exclaimed making the other giggle at the response.
"You are stop being such a tsundere, Amu." Her best friend replied while shaking her head while Amu fumed and said that she wasn't being anything like that. Rima however ignored and continued on her way "You should go and check if they have arrived, already, you surely can do that, right?" For a moment, Amu felt a rather chill ran down her spine cause of the look Rima was giving her and she nodded quickly.
"Y-Yeah." She stuttered out without thinking and the blonde haired girl granted her one of her sweet smiles.
"Good, I will prepare the tea then." With that she turned around leaving the poor girl alone. Amu sighed and looked defeated before murmuring something among the lines of how am I supposed to greet him.
Let me explain. All four of them used to be together since children, however Kukai had moved out to the city when he was seven cause of his parent's work. Amu who was still six at that time, cried for several nights cause she missed her best friend holding tightly onto the bear plushie he had given her on her birthday. It was no secret for the other two that she had a crush on the soccer-loving boy, Kukai himself remained completely unaware of it however in a mysterious way. He just didn't notice this kind of stuff. Since then, he hadn't visited them. Nagihiko had been forced to transfer on their second year on high school and that was when their roads crossed again. When Amu had heard about it, she was all excited about meeting him but she never had the chance to leave their village. She would listen to Kukai's songs every night though, feeling just a little closer to him that way.
The pinkette sat in the front porch, resting her hands on her knees as a gentle breeze caressed her face. Ah, such a refreshing feeling. She would never get tired of it, truly. She loved the nature so much. She took a deep breath, savoring the fragrance of the flowers that surrounded their house. Golden eyes looked at the sky for a bit.
'Will he remember me?' She softly questioned hoping that she would get an answer, she heard the sound of a car crossing the street and her breath hitched in her throat. That could only mean one thing, they were here! The familiar white Toyota appeared in front of her eyes and she felt her heartbeat accelerating, a wide smile appeared on her face as she waved at Nagihiko. She had missed him as well, he smiled back at her and then she noticed him. Time stopped for a single moment as he walked out of the car, the wind caressing his face, a bright smile was on his face as he looked around, his emerald eyes observing every little thing that surrounded him and then slowly landed on her. He blinked and waved at her cheerfully. Amu could have sworn that her heart skipped a beat right there.
The auburn haired boy was soon next to her leaning so close to her face that she was surprised, she hadn't noticed him sooner "Wha!" She took a step back surprised and would have almost had fallen if he hadn't reached out and caught her.
"There! You okay?" Kukai asked with gentle eyes and a slightly concerned expression on his face, the girl nodded shyly not trusting herself to speak. The male smiled "I am glad!" He blinked for a bit "You look kind of familiar…somehow…" He was puzzled and tried to think "Where do I know you from? Oh! Were you in any of our concerts, maybe?" He questioned as she stammered trying to answer.
"You are mistaken, Kukai." Nagihiko had arrived next to them and he tapped the other boy's shoulder "Don't be so close to her, you are making her flustered." The auburn haired guitarist blinked in surprise and then pulled away allowing her to be on her feet again, he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Sorry about that." She blushed slightly and finally spoke.
"I-It's totally okay." The girl managed to stutter out and Nagihiko gave her an amused grin before deciding to introduce them.
"Kukai, this Hinamori Amu, a friend of mine and Amu, this is Souma Kukai, he is our lead singer in C-A-R-D-S." Kukai held out his hand at her.
"Nice to meet ya, Amu!" He exclaimed and she nodded with a small smile.
"N-Nice to meet you two." The girl started feeling a bit more at ease and she turned around "You two must be tired, come in." They both nodded and soon the girl walked forward and bowed to them.
"Welcome! I hope you will both enjoy your stay!"
