Preface

I jumped out of the car, running at full speed toward the house. I watched as the strobe lights flickered everywhere, immersing the dancing crowd. As I kept running, Pitbull's "Go Girl" got louder and louder. If there's one thing I hate, it would be that song. I slipped into the house stealthily. I raced towards the upstairs bedroom, the one on the left. I knew they would be in there. I wrenched open the door and- she was there, lying spread eagled on the ground, her beautiful coffee colored hair splayed out behind her. And then I saw it, the telltale mark. All over her body were millions of little holes, each one paired. They were bleeding. I ran over to her and felt the heartbeat extinguish. I could feel tears coming, but they refused to fall, it was impossible. Then I saw it, the window open, with the white curtains streaming from the glass pane in the wind. I sniffed- he had been here. I raced out the open window, sprinting as fast as I could to follow his scent. I grimaced wickedly to myself. If there was one thing I loved, this was it- sweet revenge.
