Being stuck in somebody else's head was more boring than you would think.
Horus watched from Carter's eyes as the young boy lounged on the couch in the RV and ate. His younger sister, Sadie, complained "I want Starbucks" for the millionth time. Horus wasn't sure what Starbucks was, though he guessed he'd find out pretty soon.
Make her be quiet, Horus complained to Carter.
Don't you think I would if I could? Carter replied. I'd make an off switch for her if I had the time.
Horus laughed at that. The boy was funny, which was of the many reasons why Horus was in love with him. Carter would never love him back, though. He was too obsessed with the girl, Zia Rashid.
He also knew that if Carter stopped fighting him and became one, their thoughts would also become one and Carter would know about Horus's love for him.
The war god wondered what Carter would say to that.
"I want Starbucks," Sadie said again.
"Oh my God. Khufu, pull over," Carter said, glaring at his sister.
Khufu did as Carter said, also glaring at Sadie and giving her an annoyed, "Agh!"
Starbucks turned out to be a coffee place. Sadie and Carter stood in line, and Horus looked around at the busy store. It was packed even at night.
When it was Carter's turn, he ordered a venti white chocolate mocha with whipped cream. Horus could instantly sense the attraction between Carter and the guy behind the counter, and as they talked Sadie got more annoyed with her brother.
"Come back so we can talk more," the guy said.
"Sorry," Carter said. "I don't live here." He flashed a smile at the guy. "But it was very nice meeting you." Carter winked and turned his back on the guy.
Horus felt a rush of hot, boiling anger. Carter was his. He belonged to Horus and no one else could touch him. Thank Ra Carter didn't live here so he couldn't come back.
What was that? Horus asked Carter as Sadie ordered.
What was what? Carter seemed completely innocent as to what had just happened, and it infuriated Horus even more.
You were flirting with him.
Yeah? So?
So...I don't want anyone flirting with you, Horus said.
If Horus had a body of his own, his heart would have skipped a beat at Carter's wonderful laugh. Horus, are you jealous? he asked.
Even gods get jealous, Carter, Horus pointed out, feeling the heat rising into Carter's cheeks.
He wasn't that cute, anyway, Carter said, ignoring the phone number written on his coffee cup. Horus wondered if it would really be so bad if Carter found out about his love for him.
AN: I thought this was such a cute idea, and I can totally see it happening, haha :) Hope you enjoy and please review to let me know what you thought
