She was gone. Forever on another world. Pete's world and she was never coming back. Tears trickled down the Doctor's face as he remembered those last moments together on the beach. If only he had the courage to do it, tell her those three words, the three words she had told him, so bravely, those three tiny words that he wanted to say more than anything in the world. But he couldn't, he couldn't bring himself to do it in those last moments, and now she was gone forever and he would never tell her. No way back. Alone, forever.

He had so many regrets with her. He regretted loving her, he was never meant to love a human, but then again, he regretted never telling her.

He regretted not kissing her, not savouring the moments they had together, the sweet and happy moments that everyone always takes for granted, he regretted not remembering them and savouring them like he should of, he knew human lives were small and fragile and could suddenly disappear, he knew he should of made the most of what he had.

He could still remember the way she would talk and they way she was, happy, flirtatious at times, funny, good looking and always looked out for other people before her, no matter what. He remembered when he hugged her, the way her hair would fly in to his face and he would smell her coconut and strawberry shampoo lingering on her hair, always there for him to smell when they embraced.

She was the one, he couldn't deny that, she made him smile even when she wasn't doing anything, she made him laugh with her one liners and always looked out for him and cared for him, no matter what. All these memories, and that's all they were now, memories, memories he would keep with him forever. He would never forget her, Rose Tyler.

All of these memories and regrets, but if he had a choice, he would do it all again, she was worth the pain, worth the tears. She was the one who was worth fighting for, just like Jack had said and he was right. All this pain and anguish she had caused.

She was worth it, and what kept him going, was knowing she was alive. Alive and happy. Well, he hoped she was.
