Chapter 1

It was the first day of class at the University of New Mexico: Albuquerque, students flooded the campus grounds and poured into the classrooms. James sat at the top of the hill that overlooked the main campus grounds and sighed. Nothing had truly interested him here at school, but with the economy outlook looking bleak, he knew school was the only true answer for some sort of financial security. He sluggishly rose to his feet and began walking to his first class, Business.

James reaches the campus main and sees his best friend Ace.

"Sup bitch!? James screams to Ace. Ace turns around and shoots off a smile and laugh.

James grins as he sees his friends hair flop around. Ace had always been a person that neglected some aspects of personal hygiene. He always had long floppy hair that was never combed, the facial hair was always left scruffy and un-maintained and his clothes had permanent wrinkles on them. As he approached closer James extended his arm for their usual handshake.

"What the hell is up bro!? Ace yells out in his deep voice.

Their hands collide and are followed by a fist-pound.

"You ready for this shit bro?" Ace asked in excitement.

James's grin quickly faded into a frown. "I don't know bro, I'm sick of school man. I just don't think college is for me."

Ace threw his hand on James's shoulder. "Listen man, three more years, and we are done with school, forever! Just got to hang in there bro, don't bail on me yet."

Of course James would not tell his best bud that he already decided on dropping from school in the next week or so. Luck happened to be on James's side during the admission process. His grades were always subpar and his essays lacked any sort of grammatical structure; but the school had experienced a severe drop off in attendance and it was short of meeting its quota, thus allowing not only James and his buddy Ace into the school, but other "average" students as well.

"Listen bro, lets head to class and we can talk about it later. You got Basics of Business too?"

James nodded his head. "Let's just get this shit over with."
