A/N: My real post for Wednesday. It's based off a little comic I read online. I think it's called Counting Stars and I love it though I do not own that nor No. 6 :)

Shion has always found himself alone. It's a weird experience when surrounded by good friends like Safu and live a happy life like the one he did in City 6. Despite all of his privileges Shion felt that his life was lacking so he was really not surprised when he fell asleep one night and dreams of a man amidst the stars.

It was a simple dream; the man was flawless but not smiling, not at all how his mother has described angels to him, but Shion wondered if maybe this person just might be one of them, for when he took Shion up to the stars, their souls seemed to twine together.

The man looked exasperated a moment when Shion glanced back to earth and wondered at his little paper town filled with smaller paper people and dreaded returning to it and his place as one of the many paper cut outs in the string of a paper community.

The man in black sat cross-legged and waited for Shion to join him. When he did a sheet of paper was thrust towards him and the brunette was taught how to make a paper star. "Every time you make one, think of me. When you reach 1000 stars, I will grant your wish."

Shion looked at the star in his hand and decided that, while he knew wishes don't come true, he marveled at the simple complexity of the star and how something paper and thin and frail could become full and 3D and strong.

The man in black took Shion home and waited for the brunette to crawl in through his window and turn around. "What's your name?"

He looked at Shion, innocent eyes stared up at him in wonder, delight, and sadness now that their night was ending, and the man took pity on the boy, leaned close so that the wind would not carry his words and whispered, "Eve."

And then the night ended.

Shion woke and was alone in his world again, the white ceiling smiled down at him in complete contrast with his night time friend. And Shion remembered the dream; remembered the way that the city looked from so high in the sky, and remembered the warmth of having another person sit there and just be with him and listen with nothing else to distract either of them and take away their time together.

So while Shion did not believe in wishes, he did believed in friends, and he did enjoy making the little stars. So he found an empty jar from under the kitchen sink and put it on his desk, fashioned a star from paper and placed it inside.

It wasn't much, but it made the brunette feel better and, who knew, maybe after 1000 stars he could see his black knight once again.
