A/N: I know this is incredibly, embarrassingly short, but that's all that would come out and I think you guys might enjoy this. I just wanted to show what I think was going through Casey's head when she and Max are having their "closure" conversation at the end of "Two Kisses, One Party." I just thought it was really sad, and, since Max redeemed himself in this episode in my eyes, I decided to show him in a different light.

So... erm... review!

Let's call it a 168-Word Drabble.

Rejection

She looks at him and she knows that it's hopeless, that they should've just left it alone and gone on with their lives. But she had to try. She had to try, because if she didn't, then she would never know what could have been, what might have happened. She tries to keep the tears at bay, but it's really hard because her nose is turning red and her face is flushed and she just wants to cry, dammit! But she can't, because this is closure and this is what it feels like.

She's only getting what she asked for.

And when he leans in to kiss her on the cheek, all she can think about is how stupid she feels, and how badly she wants to rip off the itchy golden band stretched around her head. And then he turns to leave, and she can't help but think that the most disappointing thing is that he doesn't look back.
