The needs of the one.

Author note:
Just a little fic, because I really like what is going on with Michael Burnham and Ash Tyler.

"But the needs of the many" Burnham began.
".. Are worth fighting for, dying for" followed Ash "But so are the needs of the few".
"Or the one?" Burnham asked.

Her dark skin sparkled beautifully through the blue glow of the forest on this strange but beautiful planet. He wanted this moment to last forever. No Klingons to fight and Burnham by his side. He couldn't explain why, but he needed this strange woman who seemed to be more Vulcan than human in his life. Not only now but forever.
However, forever seemed impossible.
He knew that if they would win the war, if they both survived this, that she needed to go back to prison. He would never see her again and he couldn't do anything to prevent this for happening.

He gazed in her eyes, like she did in his.
Seemingly she still waited him to answer.
But he hadn't one to give her.
Maybe they wouldn't be together after the war, but they were now.
They lived now and every minute he delayed in showing his true feeling towards her was a minute less for the time they could spend together.
And who fooled he anyway? They both knew about the feeling they held for each other.
The whole ship knew what was going on between them.

"Come her" he whispered, pulling her closer to him, touching the soft skin of the back of her neck.
He didn't wanted to fight this urge anymore. This urge to be as close to this woman in front of him as he physically could. Their lips touched and formed a gentle but long kiss, he had wanted to feel her lips on his for so long now and it was perfect, she was perfect.
When they both needed to gasp for air they broke the kiss as he kept her close to him.
Still touching foreheads.
"That was nice" he heard Burnham saying.
He chuckled about that "Well.. yeah" he said, not knowing how to respond to that.
"I'm a very good kisser"
"How do you know that? Did you ask you ex-companions-.."
"I'm just kidding Burnham" Tyler interrupted her as he leaned in to kiss her again.
