Ambrosia
By SMYGO4EVA

The scent of it all was intoxicating; the bitterest of poisons and the sweetest of nectars ran deep into their veins. Demons ventured to quench their thirst for human blood, and they found it. If there was more to be done before the madness was reached, then they would have been saved.

Locked in a skeletal tower by force, awaiting rescue from their knights in shining armor, two young ladies were chained and told that their lives were not their own to live. Held and shivering in cages, Hotaru Tomoe and Shizuka Kawaii were prisoners of the demons, the monsters who brought them to the horrid place and bent their sanity, twisting it until there was nothing left. All was lost for them as day after day, night after night, the sanity that was once pure was corrupted until it was torn in half and thrown away.

Hotaru knew why she was there. She was Saturn, the Sovereign of Silence and the demon who kept her in the tower, one named Mistress 9, wanted her for herself. She wanted Saturn's immense power, one that lead the nightmarish prospect of world's end and having the shell, Hotaru, for her own enjoyment. All just for the fun of twisting and bending with one's mind, seeing how fragile it was and how it was so easily broken, was just too much to pass for the Medusa-like demon. The grip of reality was so easily broken, just waiting until the last strand was torn, making reality and imagination an unrecognizable blur.

Shizuka, however, didn't know why she was there. She was terrified of the dark place she found herself and she was even more frightened of who her captor was. All she knew was that he called himself the Darkness. The Darkness was known as Yami no Malik, an entity who had terrorized her brother and his friends at the Battle City Tournament, wanted nothing more than the hands of the Gods by his side He was a demon trapped in a pretty shell, and she saw him many times in her nightmares. Now her nightmares have become real, and it was far worse than she imagined.

Hotaru never slept once.

Shizuka never woke up.

Saturn was tormented.

Serenity was violated.

Mistress 9 cackled in glee.

Yami no Malik laughed in delight.

Hotaru felt her chest ache.

Shizuka felt tears in her eyes.

In the tower, the scent of blood hung in the air – ambrosia to the demons, and it still hangs there as a reminder of how innocence can easily be prey to the darkness. It was a reminder of how fragile the human mind and soul was and how what was once so beautiful can be stained almost immediately. Yes, it was amusing to see how one's mind was easily corrupted and so simply fractured. Wicked people break the most beautiful things, all in the name of tasting the drink of immortality upon their lips.
