It was 11:30 a.m. when I wrote this. I couldn't sleep, allright? Dx

"Light, give it back."

"No."

Light firmly closed the Macintosh laptop and secured it inside a desk drawer, that of which he locked with a key.

"L, you need to rest. You've been working too hard." Light responded with a sort of irritated tone. L was not pleased.

"I don't need to sleep, Light. I've been awake for much longer periods of time." L retorted.

"Really? Well, a little birdie landed on my shoulder and told me that Matsuda caught you throwing up in the bathroom once this morning, and again just a few hours earlier. You're sick, and you need to rest for a while." Light counteracted. L paled; he had been caught.

"That's only because I do not handle things well on an empty stomach, Light." L replied while searching desperately for another excuse as to why he got sick not long ago.

"And the time after that one?" Light inquired with a suspicious eyebrow raised. L couldn't think up a response, so he just quietly sat there with a look of shame on his face.

"That's what I thought. Now get in bed, and I'll bring you some medicine in case you get sick once more." Light ordered firmly. "There's a trashcan next to the bed if you get sick again."

L sighed, and gave up. He already felt bad enough for trying to lie to his boyfriend. He stood up and walked to Light, and slightly raised his arms as if he was asking for a hug.

"I'm sorry I lied…" He mumbled apologetically and tiredly. Light couldn't resist L's puppy-like appearance, and wrapped his arms around L, pulling him into a warm embrace.

"Shh… it's allright. You're a hard-working detective, and I know that solving the Kira case is the hardest one yet. But you're human like the rest of us. I'll even stay with you to make it easier." Light looked down at L, and his worn-out boyfriend was slumped into Light's chest with his head resting on Light's shoulder.

"L? Are you awake?" Light asked softly, running a hand through L's messy hair.

"Barely…" L replied almost inaudibly.

Light couldn't help but smile, and slipped a hand under Light's legs. In a smooth motion, he lifted L bridal style, and carried him over to the bed. L was surprised at first by Light's strength, but slowly relaxed into his touch. Light rested L delicately onto the mattress, and then brought up the sheets and comforter to L's shoulders before slipping beneath the covers himself. Once comfortable, Light wrapped one arm around L's frame, and used the other one to gently rest his hand on L's abdomen. He liked the feeling of the warmth emanating from the older teen's stomach, so he simply just let it rest there. L squirmed a little before completely relaxing.

"Oh sorry, is my hand cold?" Light asked quietly.

"No, it just hurts a little." L replied. His statement was half true. He was in more pain than just 'a little', though. Light seemed to notice this, and had an idea.

"Here…" Light helped L reposition to where he was resting on his back with his head in the crook of Light's neck, and Light was lying on his side. L looked up at Light confusedly as to why he was in this position.

"You'll see." Light replied with a soft smile on his face. He held L closely with one hand, and slowly caressed the area around L's navel with the other. To L, the sensation was a heavenly, relaxing feeling.

As the two slowly fell into a deep slumber, Matsuda poked his head inside, holding a tray of tea. He saw the two, blushed furiously, and stepped outside. The tea was probably better served later.
