A.N: I do not own Shadowhunters in anyway, and all plot, characters and everything else belongs to the writer. I know that Alec is gay in the show but this is my story so I am changing it. No backlash or anything: please

Me and My sisters friend, Simon sat in Java Jones as we waited for my fraternal twin - Clary to show up with news off whether or not she got into Brooklyn academy of arts. She walked in with a sad face on causing me to put my latte down on the table and stand up momentarily. "Give me the professors names and I...I will end them," Simon said causing me to cock a brow, the Simon Lewis I knew would never hurt a fly - let alone a person.

"You know, with a scathing e-mail to the dean," Simon says, and I rolled my eyes as I sipped on my latte. "Don't bother," Clary said, pushing a letter towards us a bold in red ink 'congratulations' was written at the top and I nearly screamed.

"Clary, you got in!" I shouted and everyone looked at me weirdly and I scowled. Simon just rolled his eyes, I don't know why but me and him have never really gotten on - I only tolerate him for Clary's sake. "What?" Simon said, scowling at Clary and she smiled, chuckling lightly to herself.

"Sad face? Really?" I asked, as I started to eat one of my biscotti.

"Well played, well played." Simon said, raising for a fist bump with Clary and I rolled my eyes - kids.

"Thank you, You know it's weird." Clary said as I put my mug down and leaned on my arms "They kind of liked my assigned work, but they flipped out of the drawings for our graphic novel." She said and I sighed.

"You've worked hard on it, you deserve it." I said, giving her a smile but deep down, I felt something was missing - like there was another part of my life that I had yet to find.

"You're welcome," Simon said.

"This day will go down in history for the best 18th birthday ever," Clary said and I cocked a brow.

"It's our only 18th birthday Cl," I said, and she rolled her eyes before punching my arm playfully.

A few minutes into our conversation, Clary went on to ask "So, what's the deal with you and Maureen?" She asked.

"Yeah, Simon. what's the deal?" I asked, in a teasing manner - he glared at me and Clary sighed. "You're hatred for each other is radiating off in waves over here, can't you two at least pretend you like each other for ten minutes?" She asked, and I rolled my eyes.

"What deal? No deal. We sing together," Simon said, finally answering my sisters question. Clary put her biscotti down on the table and looked at Simon with a cocked brow - much like mine at the moment.

"You seriously don't know she's been crushing on you this whole time?" I snorted, Clary agreed and Simon sighed before shaking his head.

"What. No. No" He defended and I giggled.

"Hey Dot," Me and Clary said as we entered the antique store my mum owned, her assistant Dot stood out on the counter with her tarot cards.

"Hey you two," She said, throwing a smile our way.

"How's your future looking?" I asked her as I put my bags down on the floor and leaned against the glass table.

"Not as good as yours," She said, looking at the both of us.

"Hmm," I said, humming. I didn't really know what I wanted to do.

"The tarot cards tell me you got into the advanced program," She said, looking at Clary.

"And if you mean tarot cards, you really mean Simon's twitter account." I said, smirking and she smiled at me.

"Okay, I followed him." Dot admits and I chuckle.

"Mmm," Clary said, and I put my bag down on the floor and looking between Dot and Clary and pushing my hand through my red hair.

"Turns out, predicting the future with tarot cards is very complicated," She said, turning over a card while she said it and I looked down at it. It was some sort of cup and I smiled - chuckling at Dot as she sighed herself. "But, I do see a birthday present in the both of your futures," She said, pulling up two bags from behind the counter and a smile etched it's way onto my face.

"Dot," We both said at the same time as she came around the table to be beside us.

"Okay, open it. The both of you," She said, pointing her finger at us both and I nodded. I pulled a shoe box out with a dress, the boots were combat and the dress was tight "Wow, Dot. It's amazing," I said, holding the fabric close to my body - I have always been the dangerous twin, the one that loves to be a bit dangerous.

"Yeah, you might want to keep that on the DL. You're mum is my boss, and I don't want her to flip out." She said and I chuckled as I wrapped my arms around Dot. Clary had gotten a really sexy top herself and it looked just like her personality.

"Yeah, but that's how I know it's cool." Clary said causing me to laugh.

"Mom!" We both said as we walked into our cosy apartment and our mum looked up, and nearly screamed.

"You did it! Yay!" She said, walking with a basket of clothing in her hands.

"You also follow Simon?" I asked cocking a brow and she looked over at me, "He only has 92 followers, he needed the retweets." She said causing me to laugh and hug my mum before she hugged Clary. I sat down on the couch as I watched the two interact.

"Thank you, Hashtag, stalker mom." Clary said and I giggled.

"Happy Birthday," She said to the both of us, giving us our respective boxes and I looked up at her. "Thanks Mom," I said, kissing her cheek.
