In the lab - Greg wants to know what he is to Sara.

I've only seen up to third season (making my way through the DVDs). There was an episode in season two, where an ice-hocky player had more than two men... and I remember Sara mentioning about bad boys and the marriage boys.

So I don't know who Wendy is... but I am hoping for a happy Sandle ending to CSI. Which I don't own if anyone is curious.

"So what am I?" He asked, rocking back and forth on his toes. Sara looked up. He was always so... jumpy.

She would have made a crack, but she was far more interested in his question. "What?"

"Well, I was just thinking you said that every girl has one. The bad boy, or the marriage protype." He slid back from the counter, "So what am I?"

"Oh."

"Wait. Don't answer. I've got it. I'm the bad boy, right? Your break from Griss when it gets boring."

She shot him a know-it-all smirk. "The bad boy?" She asked, raising an eyebrow and not even giving his mention of Grissom a second thought.

Was this another blow to his ego? It seemed like it. He tried to cover it up, ineffectually.

"So, if I'm not the bad boy, then what am I?"

She looked at him blankly. "You're the marriage protype, Greg."

He slammed his palm down on the counter. "You're kidding me." He grinned his usual wild grin he did when he'd made an incorrect guess.

"Then who's your bad boy? Not..."

She looked at the equipment. Why was it taking so long to get a read?

"Grissom" She said bluntly, answering him.

"Griss? A bad boy?"

"There's more to being a bad boy than sleeping around Greg." She said pointedly.

"Obviously." He ran his hands over the counter again, with all that extra energy he had. "Like what?"

"Like... not settling down. Like... being unattainable. Like a lot of things that you're not."

"That hurts Sara. That really hurts."

"So. How's that read coming?"

He ignored her enthusiasm to leave. If he let that get to him, their relationship would have been doomed from day one. "So, does the marriage protype guy ever get the girl?"

Sara shared a smile with him. He smiled back, a little cautiously. Not knowing if her comment was going to be a massive blow to his ego.

"Sure he does, Greg. After she gives up on the bad boy for not committing."

He feigned another grin. "Right. Any idea of when that will be, because I'm kind of on a tight schedule?"

"You'll never give up on me, will you Greg?" She moved to be within a couple of inches of his face, her breath mingling with his.

He gulped visibly. "I've never been a quitter" he said cooly.

"I'll take you up on that" she said with a smile. Just as they both heard the sound of a 'ding' in the background.
