Omg, another new story? Why can't I just finish my other ones before I start something new? Will I ever get a life? The answers to those questions…right now!

Yes, because I don't feel like it and not a chance in hell.

Warnings: OOC AND AU!!! Oh, and also some Boyxboy goodness and swearing. Just, not now.

The idea for this story came to me, when rereading The Saga of Darren Shan for the fifth time.

I don't own FMA or the Saga of Darren Shan.

Ed always wanted more in life. It wasn't the normal amount of Greed that us humans desire, it was the desire to fill this hole within him. This never ending hole.

He also craved adventure. Oh, sweet adventure. An exciting way to get away from everyone and everything.

Ed would complete his days like a robot, barely aware of what he was doing and what was happening around him. He always seemed happy, laughing and mucking around with his friends. But, that was just so that they'd never notice Ed's need for…more. He desperately wished for a change, adventure, anything exciting that would take him away from this boring, everyday routine that he was just so sick of.

He spent most of his time, when he was not at school or doing anything social, with his nose in a book. He adored books, as they allowed his imagination flow and for him to escape from his life. Any kind of book would please him, just as long as it was well written. But his most favourite type of book was crime, adventure and a happy ending. The crime book allowed him to learn more about the ways of criminals and just how powerful the FBI was. It was a great way to spend his evening, reading a lovely crime book while sipping a hot chocolate or what not. The adventure books let him plan out his perfect adventure. He sometimes imagined himself as part of the story and as one of the characters, messing with the rest and doing things his own way. The classic happy ending stories were one of his favourites. He once read the angst, sad and down right depressing stories, where the characters always ended up dying, and just got sick of them. So, he turned to the opposite of those books and fell in love with a happy ending. But, books can only get you so far in life and he was once again left in reality.

Ed tried to keep as busy as possible, working on one thing or another, in a sad attempt to try to get rid of his undying need for something in his life. No, it wasn't that Ed was so ugly that he despised everything and wanted to be beautiful more than anything else. Quite opposite in fact, as Ed was the only person he knew with great golden eyes and lovely blonde hair. He seemed to always have girls stalking him, trying to get his phone number or ask him out on a date. But, that's not the point.

So, Ed only wanted two things in his life: Adventure and/or excitement. Little did he know that he would be getting both those things very, very soon.

Omg, gasp!

Edited again by Panic's fantastic temporary editor. She told me to mention this, although we know you don't care. Thanks for reading!
