In a way, this was big deal for Logan, but in a way, it wasn't . Kendall had protected and comforted him for years whenever something hurt him. It was only natural that Logan would return the favor.
Jo had left for New Zealand. Saying Kendall was devastated was an understatement.
It was finally time for Logan to take on the role of the nurturing one. He held Kendall in his bed, Kendall's head was on his chest, the rest of his body between Logan's legs, stroking his hair while he cried. Logan was the only person Kendall could trust himself to cry in front of.
The blinds were shut, and there wasn't a single peep of light in the entire room. Hours have passed, Logan wouldn't even be surprised if a day or two had slipped by as well. He didn't bother checking to see if it was still light outside. Logan didn't care, he wasn't tired. He promised himself to stay awake with Kendall, even if he wasn't awake, Logan just felt it was his protective duty.
Maybe staying up wasn't the best idea. Logan rubbed one of his drowsy eyes, certain his sleep schedule has been greatly interrupted. He should at least check to see what the outside world looked like. He put his ear on Kendall's head. His breathing sounded steady and deep, he was probably sleeping.
Logan decided to peek through the blinds.
It was beautiful, without a doubt. Sunrises had always been beautiful to Logan, but LA sunrises were magical. The smog and clouds reflected the sunlight, it looked like the whole sky was burning, maybe even the whole world.
Kendall let out an indignant moan and burrowed his head into Logan's chest. He only gave a contented sigh when Logan closed the blinds and gave him a gentle peck on his greasy hair.
Logan help Kendall closer and tighter to him. It felt like he needed to protect Kendall from everything and anything. Was this how the blonde felt when Logan would could running up to him, crying, when they were younger? That the world was a horrible place, out to break his best friend's heart and body? That the only safe place were the arms of the protector?
Kendall started sobbing again, adding fresh stains to Logan's shirt. Logan sat up and placed his chin on Kendall's head, humming something, anything that'd help him keep calm, remind him that he's always here. To help him. Protect him. Love him.
"Please don't leave me", Kendall begged,"I'm going to be a monster to myself"
Logan placed a kiss to his damp forhead.
"As long as you need me, I won't leave"
Ahh! It's almost 4 AM! I have to stay up late to work on a script for my IVP class but I got distracted by Safe and Sound, you know, the song that Taylor Swift recorded for the Hunger Games. I thought they were okay, but I felt everyone was giving the book and movie too much praise (I did read the book & see the movie)
Reviews and Critiques are very much appreciated.
